The third and final T20 International between South Africa and West Indies takes place on Saturday the 31st of January at the Wanderers Cricket Stadium in Johannesburg. After back-to-back victories, the Proteas have already wrapped up the series with a 2-0 lead and we take a closer look at the final encounter from a betting angle below.
South Africa vs West Indies – 2nd T20 Summary
South Africa sealed the series in good fashion with a dominant 7-wicket victory in the second T20I that was held in Centurion. After being asked to bat first, the West Indies produced a strong batting display, posting an imposing 221/4 from their 20 overs. Shimron Hetmyer led the charge once again with a superb 75 from 42 balls, striking the ball cleanly throughout the innings. Brandon King gave the visitors early momentum with a brisk 49 off 30 deliveries, while Sherfane Rutherford provided a devastating late knock, smashing 57 not out from just 24 balls.
For the Proteas, Keshav Maharaj was the standout bowler finishing with excellent figures of 2 for 22 in his four overs and applying crucial control through the middle phase. Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen claimed a wicket apiece but the South African attack found conditions tough on a flat Centurion surface.
In response, South Africa’s batting was nothing short of spectacular. Quinton de Kock produced an impressive innings at the top of the order, blasting 115 from just 49 balls in a Player of the Match performance that completely swung the contest. He was well supported by Ryan Rickelton who continued his fine form with 77 not out off 36 deliveries, as the pair dismantled the West Indian bowling attack.
Akeal Hosein took 2 wickets for 41 runs in his 4 overs and Matthew Forde took 1 wicket for 34 runs in his 3.3 overs.
Despite losing Aiden Markram early, the Proteas never lost control of the chase and raced to 225/3 in just 17.3 overs, finishing with 15 balls to spare.
South Africa had won the 1st T20 by 9 wickets in Paarl chasing down the 176 target in the 18th over.

SUGGESTED BETS
Top South Africa Batter – Quinton de Kock at 3.85
De Kock was simply unstoppable in the second T20I, tearing into the West Indian attack with a scintillating century at a strike rate well over 230. Opening the batting, he made full use of the Powerplay and looked in complete control throughout his innings. With confidence high and conditions suiting his aggressive style, he shapes as a strong contender to top-score once again for the Proteas.
Top West Indies Batter – Shimron Hetmyer at 5.00
Hetmyer has been the most consistent performer for the West Indies across the series and followed up his solid first T20 with a classy 75 in the second match. Coming in at the fall of the 1st wicket, he has shown the ability to both rebuild and accelerate, making him a strong candidate to lead the West Indian run-scoring in the series finale.
Match Total Sixes under 18.5 at 1.83
We hit the overs at Centurion with a massive 25 sixes but conditions at the Wanderers are not always as friendly and this West Indies team while prolific six hitters also gives the impression they could collapse at any time. I feel this line is slightly too high.
