In the first of 5 ODIs, South Africa is set to compete against Australia on Thursday the 7th of September at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein. Let’s take a closer look at the betting odds for this match.
Australia are high on confidence having whitewashed the Proteas 3-0 in the T20’s however the Proteas now bring back some of their big guns.
SOUTH AFRICA
With the Cricket World Cup approaching quickly, the Proteas will look to start building some confidence. This year they have played five games, three against England winning the series 2-1 and two against the West Indies, with the sides winning 1 match each. All five of their games played this year have been played at home with two being at The Mangaung Oval, both against England and both finishing in victory for the Proteas.

In their last six games, three against England and three against India, they have only lost once and that was away to India in the 1st of a 3 match series they came back to win 2-1. They won the series at home against England 3-0 at the end of 2022.

Suggested Bet: Australia to win at 4/6
South Africa may have strengthened their squad but some of those players may be rusty and a well drilled and confident Australian team can break their ODI losing streak against the Proteas and can keep the momentum of the tour going.
Suggested Bet: Top Australian Batsman, Mitch Marsh at 29/10
Marsh looked excellent in the T20’s and the skipper should relish the additional overs he will get at the crease. I am backing him to lead from the front and to outscore all of his teammates.
