New Zealand will be looking to complete a 2-0 Series whitewash when they take on South Africa in the 2nd Test in Hamilton on Tuesday, the 13th of February and we take a look at the game from a betting angle.
South Africa have sent a team very thin on International experience due to most of their top players being involved in the SA20 at the time the Series kicked off. They were big underdogs going into the 1st Test and the betting proved spot on as New Zealand won by 281 runs in Mount Maunganui.
1ST TEST RECAP
South Africa won the toss and sent New Zealand in to bat and after South Africa had New Zealand 2 down for 39 runs it looked as though that decision could pay dividends. Kane Williamson (118) and Rachin Ravindra (240) then got together to put on over 200 for the 3rd wicket and with some contributions coming from down the order, New Zealand reached 511 all out in the 144 overs.
Neil Brand was the pick of the South African bowlers taking 6 for 119 in his 26 overs and Ruan de Swardt also impressed with his 2 for 61 in 29 overs.
After a solid start, South Africa began to lose wickets quickly in their reply and they were bowled out for 162 with Keegan Petersen’s top score with 45 off 132 balls.
Matt Henry with 3 for 31 and Mitchell Santner with 3 for 34 were the pick of the New Zealand bowlers.
New Zealand then declared their 2nd innings on a 179 for 4, Kane Williamson scoring another century and Neil Brand picking up 2 wickets for 52 in his 13 overs.
South Africa’s middle-order put up some fight with a 105 run partnership for the 5th wicket, but they were ultimately bowled out for 247, falling well short of the target. David Bedingham top scored with 87 and Ruan de Swardt looked good for his 34 not out. Kyle Jamieson picked up 4 wickets for 58 runs and Mitchell Santner was once again amongst the wickets with 3 wickets for 59.

The betting for this game is one-sided and it is hard to argue with that, but fortunately we have a number of Exotic Markets that can keep us interested.
Suggested Bet: Batsman Total Match Fours, Kane Williamson over 8.5 at 17/20
Williamson had looked untroubled in both innings in the 1st Test and New Zealand will once again look to build their innings around him and I am going to back him to reach the boundary at least 9 times.
Suggested Bet: First Innings South Africa Top Batter, Keegan Petersen at 16/5
Petersen is the one player in the team who has some experience and although his first innings runs were scored at a painfully slow rate it did show that he has the application needed to hopefully go on and convert a bigger score.
Suggested Bet: First Innings South Africa Top Bowler, Ruan de Swardt at 3/1
De Swardt never got as many wickets as Neil Brand in the 1st Test, but his bowling impressed me and I will back him to go well in the 2nd Test.
