In the first half of the match the Sunrisers ensured no big partnerships were formed and they restricted the Super Giants to a very low run rate. The Sunrisers put up an amazing performance with bat in hand and their 2 opening batsmen got things going from the get-go, chasing down the total with ease without a single wicket dropping. The Gujarat Titans were meant to take on the Kolkata Knight Riders in their last game that was scheduled for Monday the 13th of May, however the match was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain. This sadly meant the Titans were eliminated.

Top batsman was Shubman Gill who scored 104 off 55 balls.
They then had a brilliant start with the ball in hand, picking up 3 early wickets while keeping their opponent batsmen to a minimal run rate. They then let things slip a bit and allowed the Super Kings to build some valuable partnerships which put pressure on the bowlers, but in the end they did enough early on in the innings in order to hold off the Super Kings and when the innings came to an end the Titans had won by 35 runs.
