The game began with them winning the toss and electing to field first, where they put pressure on their opposition with an early wicket. The wickets then dried up and the runs were scored at a good rate until a total of 192/7 was reached. Top bowler was Harshal Patel who took 3 wickets for 31 runs in 4 overs.
The Kings had a shocking start with the bat in hand, losing 4 wickets by the time 2.1 overs had been played however they then turned things around finally falling just 9 runs shy when they were bowled out in the last over. Top batsman was Ashutosh Sharma who scored 61 runs off of 28 balls.
The Gujarat Titans clashed with the Delhi Capitals in their most recent match that was played on the 17th of April in Ahmedabad. The Titans lost the toss and were sent into bat first by the Capitals and from the first ball they never managed to get going or form partnerships, with wickets falling at a frequent intervals. In the end they reached a total of 89 runs, and they were bowled out in the 18th over. Top batsman was Rashid Khan who scored 31 off 24 balls.
The bowling attack did the best they could with the ball in hand but with such a low total to defend it was almost certain they would not win the match and after fighting hard they lost the match by 6 wickets at the end of the 9th over. Top bowler was Sandeep Warrier who took 2 wickets for 40 runs off his 3 overs.
