The Kolkata Knight Riders are two times Champions of the IPL, but they finished a disappointing 7th last time out.
They will be captained by Shreyas Iyer and they have a high quality team that much may depend on the form of record-signing Mitchell Starc, well capable of destroying sides with the ball. As far as the batting goes a lot will rest on the shoulders of Captain, Iyer and I quite like the 9/4 that he is the top Kolkata Knight Riders batsman in this Tournament.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad will be captained by Pat Cummins and they have a number of exciting players in the team including South Africans, Aiden Markram and Marco Janssen. The biggest name of them all though could be Heinrich Klaasen who was in such superb form in the SA 20 and is feared by bowling attacks around the world.

The Kolkata Knight Riders are a side to be respected, but I like the look of Sunrisers Hyderabad this season and think they have got some good balance to their team. I am happy to take them at 17/20 to win the opener.

Pat Cummins is a man who leads from the front and although he can chip in with useful runs down the order, it is his bowling which will have a big say in how his team will perform, both on the night and in the Tournament. Always a man for the big occasion, I am expecting him to get off for a fast start.
