The Kolkata Knight Riders were at home to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their last game and it was the Challengers who won the toss and sent Kolkata in to bat. The Knight Riders scored 222 for 6 in their 20 overs with an excellent 48 off 14 balls from Phil Salt at the top of the innings and Captain, Shreyas Iyer top scored with 50 off 36 balls in the middle order.
The Knight Riders grabbed the scalp of Faf du Plessis early and they also kept Virat Kohli down to 18 runs, but in the end RCB fought back and it was a nail biting finish with the chase falling just 1 run short and RCB bowled out on the last ball for 221. Andre Russell scooped top bowler honours for the Knight Riders with 3 for 25 off his 3 overs.
The Punjab Kings last action was at home to the Gujarat Titans where they won the toss and chose to bat first. The Kings started solidly enough, but when wickets began to fall at regular intervals, they were bowled out for 142 in their 20 overs with top scorer, Prabhsimran Singh with 35 off 21 balls at the top of the order.
The Titans knocked off the runs relatively simply scoring 146 for 7 with 5 balls still in hand. On the bowling front Harshal Patel picked up top bowling honours with an impressive spell of 3 overs, 3 for 15 going at an economy rate of just 5 an over.
