The Gujarat Titans took on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their most recent match that was played in Bengaluru on Saturday the 4th of May. The match begun with the Titans losing the toss and being sent into bat first, where they had a terrible start, losing 3 wickets in the powerplay and batting at a very low run rate. They then started putting some runs on the board, but it wasn’t long before the wickets began to drop at a rapid rate and after losing 3 wickets in the last over, they ended on a total of 147 runs all out. Top batsman was M Shahrukh Khan who scored 37 runs off 24 balls.
The Titans started off struggling with the ball in hand and allowed the Royal Challengers to get off to a flying start. It was not until the end of the powerplay when the wickets began to flow in but at this point, they had already let their opponents chase down a big chunk of the runs and although they picked up 6 wickets, they lost the game by 4 wickets with 38 balls remaining. Top bowler was Josh Little who picked up 4 wickets for 45 runs in 4 overs.
The Chennai Super Kings took on the Punjab Kings in their last clash that happened in Dharamsala on Sunday the 5th of May, the match got started after Punjab Kings won the toss and elected to field first. The Super Kings got off to a shaky start after losing an early wicket, but they were able to stabilise a bit thereafter until the powerplay was finished and they lost 3 quick wickets. For the rest of the innings, they struggled to get going and wickets were falling at regular intervals, which resulted in them reaching a total of 167/9. Top batsman as Ravindra Jadeja who scored 43 off 26 deliveries.
The Super Kings looked good with the ball in the first 2 overs, and they restricted their opponents to just 9 runs while taking 2 wickets. They then let things slip a bit, but it was not long until they got back in the game and continued to take wickets while keeping the Punjab Kings batsmen to a minimal run rate. In the end they were able to keep things tight throughout the game which resulted in them winning the match by 28 runs. Top bowler was Ravindra Jadeja who took 3 wickets for just 20 runs in his 4 over spell.
