The 2nd match of the 3-match series between South Africa and Pakistan will take place on Thursday the 19th of December at World Sports Betting Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town and we look at the game from a betting angle suggesting a couple of plays.
The Series Betting currently has South Africa as underdogs trading at 2.60, with Pakistan the new favourites priced at 1.50.
In the correct score betting South Africa 2-1 is 2.60.

1st ODI – SOUTH AFRICA vs PAKISTAN
The 1st ODI held on Tuesday the 17th of December began with the Proteas winning the toss and choosing to bat first. They started decently with bat in hand, however between the 10th and 14th over they lost 4 quick wickets which led to them being under pressure with just 88 runs on the board.
South Africa then managed to stabilise and form a couple of partnerships and although they lost wickets along the way, they reached a total of 239/9 which always felt a bit below par.
Top batsman was Heinrich Klaasen who scored 86 runs off 97 balls with 7 fours and for Pakistan it was Salman Agha who claimed top figures with 4 wickets for 32 runs in his 8 over spell.
It was then Pakistan’s turn to take to the crease in an attempt to chase down the target put up by South Africa. This looked out of reach initially due to the South African bowlers applying immense pressure and after roughly 20 overs, Pakistan were 4 wickets down with just 60 runs on the board.
They then formed a huge partnership that took them to within 40 runs of the target, which allowed the back-end batsmen to stick with Salman Agha who was comfortable at the crease and he got the job done which resulted in a 3-wicket Pakistan victory.
The star of the show with bat in hand was Saim Ayub who scored 109 off 119 deliveries. The South African bowler who topped the bowling log was Kagiso Rabada who picked up 2 wickets for 48 runs in his 10 overs bowled.

South Africa 1.65
Pakistan 2.25
I am once again going to stick with some of the alternative markets although based on the 1st ODI Pakistan look decent value at 2.25.
Suggested Bet: Top Pakistan Batter – Salman Agha at 6.25
He performed well in the 1st ODI, and he looked comfortable at the crease, not giving away his wicket and scoring a solid total. I believe he will come into this match with confidence and if a few early wickets fall and he gets time at the crease he is a big runner.
Suggested Bet: Top South African Bowler – Tabraiz Shamsi at 3.45
He impressed me with his performance on Tuesday night with the ball in hand and he could well have had more wickets. He was spinning the ball prodigiously and with more of the same and a bit of fortune he cam get amongst the Pakistan wickets.
