The 4th and final T20 between South Africa and India takes place at the Wanderers Stadium on Friday and the hosts will need to win the match if they want to level the four match series.
SERIES SUMMARY
India won the 1st T20 in Durban by a convincing 61 runs. South Africa bounced back in Gqeberha on Sunday when they chased down a low total for a 3 wicket win with one over to spare.
3rd T20
Centurion has always been known as a high scoring ground and it proved to be one, once again on Wednesday night when India set South Africa 219 for 6 in their 20 overs, this after been sent into bat by South Africa who had won the toss.
Sanju Samson who has been in prolific form was bowled second ball of the innings, but India recovered well thanks largely to top scorer, Tilak Varma who finished with 107 off just 56 balls. Keshav Maharaj and Andile Simelane each picked up two wickets, but the pick of the bowlers was Marco Jansen with his 1 for 28 off 4 overs.
South Africa started their response in positive fashion, but failed to build big partnerships. Their top 3 batsmen all getting into the 20’s at decent strike rates before getting out. Heinrich Klaasen threatened to get South Africa over the line with 41 off 22 balls and Marco Jansen delivered a very impressive 54 off 17 balls, but the task was too much and South Africa finished on 208 for 7 to lose by 11 runs.
Arshdeep Singh took 3 for 37 off his 4 overs and Varun Chakravarthy also looked dangerous picking up two wickets although he did take a bit of stick at 13 per over.

South Africa 33/20
India 7/10
BET: South Africa win at 33/20
I don’t feel there is much between these sides and while India are worthy favourites I think South Africa can bounce back to level the series at a Wanderers ground which often brings out the best in them.
BET: India Top Bowler, Varun Chakravarthy at 22/10
Chakravarthy picked up 4 wickets in Gqeberha and has also looked very dangerous in both the 1st and 3rd T20’s. He is the sort of bowler that batsmen struggle to get after and when they throw caution to the wind, the wickets often fall.
BET: South Africa Top Batsman, Ryan Rickelton at 61/20
It was good to see Rickelton pushed up to the top of the order and he looked pretty good before getting out in an unlucky fashion. He is the sort of batsman who can string scores together and I am hoping that he kicks on for a big one.
