Pakistan head back to Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad with a 1-0 advantage in the three-match ODI series following a thrilling two-wicket win on Tuesday night. We will take a look at the second encounter from a betting angle below, providing suggested bets for your consideration.
1st ODI – Pakistan vs South Africa Summary
The opening match in Faisalabad provided high drama and quality cricket in equal measure. South Africa, after being sent into bat first, posted a competitive 263 all out. Openers Quinton de Kock and Lhuan-dre Pretorius who scored 63 off 71 and 57 from 60 respectively, laid a solid platform with a century stand, displaying excellent shot selection against Pakistan’s new-ball attack. However, once the partnership was broken, Pakistan’s lineup took full control, picking up crucial wickets at regular intervals.
Young leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed impressed with 3 for 53 across his 9 over spell, while Saim Ayub added an unexpected twist as he removed two key top-order wickets. Naseem Shah continued his fine form, cleaning up the tail with figures of 3 for 40, ensuring South Africa couldn’t fully capitalise on their start.
In reply, Pakistan’s chase wobbled at times but was anchored by the calm presence of Mohammad Rizwan who struck 55 from 74 deliveries and he was well accompanied by Salman Agha who topped the batting with 62 runs from 71 balls. Their partnership through the middle overs steadied the innings after a shaky start, setting up a tight finish that Pakistan sealed with just two balls to spare.
Corbin Bosch was the pick of South Africa’s bowlers, claiming figures of 2 for 32 at an economy rate of 4.80 an over. Donovan Ferreira was next in line with 2 for 53 in 9 overs.
The result leaves Pakistan with the early series momentum, while South Africa will look to bounce back quickly in their second meeting on Thursday.
Player of the Match was deservingly awarded to Salman Agha for his game winning contribution with the bat.

Pakistan 1.49
South Africa 2.70
Suggested Bets:
Top Pakistan Batter – Mohammad Rizwan at 5.25
Rizwan looked composed at the crease during the first clash and came close to topping the batting stats, I am backing him to go deeper this time around.
Quinton de Kock to score a 50 YES at 3.00
The veteran looked solid in Faisalabad, striking clean through the line and rotating the strike expertly. I am backing him to raise his bat in the 2nd ODI.
South Africa to win at 2.70
There was not much between these sides in the 1st ODI and South Africa look well priced to level the series.
