Pakistan and South Africa begin their three-match ODI series on Tuesday the 4th of November at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad. Both sides come into this contest following eventful campaigns over the past few months, with Pakistan seeking consistency at home and South Africa opting to continue their fine run of form. We will have a look at the game from a betting angle.
PAKISTAN
Pakistan enters this series under pressure to deliver a positive result following an inconsistent 2025. Their struggles against New Zealand earlier in the year carried into the Champions Trophy, where defeats to India and the Black Caps exposed issues in their batting depth and bowling attack. However, they showed improvement during their latest tour of the West Indies in August, picking up a much needed win by 5 wickets but unfortunately losing the series.
Shaheen Shah Afridi now takes over as captain, adding leadership responsibility to his role as Pakistan’s strike bowler. The experienced trio of Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Fakhar Zaman headline the batting unit, supported by promising youngsters such as Saim Ayub and Haseebullah Khan.
The pace attack remains Pakistan’s greatest strength, with Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf also capable of turning a game with the new ball.

SOUTH AFRICA
South Africa arrive in Pakistan in excellent form after an impressive run of results throughout 2025. They began the year by storming to the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy, defeating Afghanistan and England before falling to New Zealand. That momentum carried into their tour of Australia in August, where they claimed a 2-1 series win, and they recently backed it up with another strong showing in England, winning the first two ODIs convincingly before losing the final match.
Captain Matthew Breetzke leads the side, bringing stability at the top of the order, while Dewald Brevis and Tony de Zorzi continue to impress as dynamic middle-order options. Quinton de Kock’s experience adds valuable balance to a lineup filled with flair and aggression. The bowling unit looks equally solid, with Corbin Bosch and Lungi Ngidi forming a potent pace duo.

HEAD-TO-HEAD
Pakistan have had the upper hand in recent meetings, winning all four ODIs against South Africa since December 2024. Their most recent encounter came in the 2025 Tri-Nation Series in Karachi where Pakistan claimed a comfortable 6 wicket win. Before that, Pakistan swept the 2024/25 ODI series in South Africa 3-0 with narrow victories in Paarl, Cape Town, and Johannesburg.

SUGGESTED BETS
Top Pakistan Batter – Babar Azam at 3.85
He had a tough time during the recent T20 series against South Africa with bat in hand but found his rhythm in the final match, scoring 68 and leading the side to victory, I think the longer format suits him perfectly and he will be comfortable at the crease in the opener.
Top South Africa Bowler – Corbin Bosch at 2.70
Corbin Bosch has performed consistently in recent appearances and with his pace and variance leading to frequent wickets, I think he once again tops the South African bowling figures.
