INDIA
India is currently the only undefeated team left in the World Cup, having won all seven of their games. This has earned them 14 points, securing their position at the top of the table.
In their most recent game against Sri Lanka, they lost the toss and were required to bat first. Despite losing a wicket in the very first over, India quickly found their stride. The next three batsmen, Gill, Kohli, and Iyer, each contributed with scores of more than 80 runs, placing India in a strong position early in the game. India ended up with a total of 357/8 in their fifty overs.
India’s bowling performance was equally impressive, as they took a remarkable six wickets in the first ten overs. They bowled Sri Lanka out for just 55 runs in the 20th over. Mohammed Shami played a crucial role in the bowling department, taking five wickets in only five overs.

SOUTH AFRICA
South Africa has also enjoyed success in this World Cup, with only one loss in the seven games they’ve played, placing them just behind India with 12 points.
In their recent match against New Zealand, South Africa lost the toss and had to bat first. Quinton de Kock got off to a blazing start, scoring 114 runs, followed by an impressive 133 from van der Dussen. Miller also made a significant contribution with a half-century, helping South Africa reach a total of 357 runs in their 50 overs, with only four wickets lost.
South Africa’s bowlers quickly gained the upper hand, taking two wickets before New Zealand reached the 50-run mark. Keshav Maharaj played a notable role, securing four wickets and preventing New Zealand from posting a substantial score. New Zealand was bowled out for just 167 runs in the 36th over, giving South Africa another dominant victory.

HEAD-TO-HEAD
These teams met in a 3 match series in India in 2022 with India coming from behind for a 2-1 series win.
Suggested Bet: Quinton de Kock to be top the batter at 5/1
De Kock has been in exceptional form throughout this World Cup, making him the current top run-scorer. He is the sort of player who is very hard to stop when in a confident mood and I am looking for another big one from him.
Suggested Bet: South Africa to win at 15/10
Despite India enjoying the home ground advantage, South Africa has been steadily building momentum and comfortably defeating prominent teams in their recent games. I think they can hand out the hosts 1st loss in the tournament.
