India host South Africa at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Nava Raipur on Wednesday the 3rd of December after claiming a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. We look at the second encounter from a betting angle offering u[ a couple of suggested bets for consideration.
1st ODI – India vs South Africa Summary
The opening match in Ranchi delivered entertainment with bat and ball. India, after being asked to bat first posted a commanding 349/8 in their 50 overs. Openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal got the hosts off to a brisk start before Virat Kohli took full control of the innings with an impressive 135 runs off 120 balls. His knock featuring 11 fours and 7 sixes anchored the innings and he was well accompanied by KL Rahul who struck a composed 60 from 56 balls.
South Africa’s bowling unit worked hard but struggled to contain Kohli’s fluent stroke play. Corbin Bosch, Nandre Burger and Marco Jansen each picked up two wickets, while Ottneil Baartman remained the most economical among the seamers with 2 for 60 runs across his 10 over spell.
In reply, South Africa found themselves under early pressure slipping to 7/3 after a superb new-ball spell from Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh. Matthew Breetzke and Dewald Brevis rebuilt the innings scoring 72 off 80 and 37 from 28 deliveries respectively before Marco Jansen produced a sparkling 70 from just 39 balls, blasting 8 fours and 3 sixes. Corbin Bosch added further stability at the back end with 67 off 51 balls, keeping South Africa in the hunt right up to the final overs.
Kuldeep Yadav proved decisive for India, claiming 4 for 68 and breaking partnerships at crucial moments, with Harshit Rana taking 3 for 65. South Africa were eventually bowled out for 332 in 49.2 overs, falling 17 runs short.

Suggested Bets:
Top India Batter – Virat Kohli at 3.85
Kohli was at his best in the first meeting, pacing his innings superbly and dominating the South African attack. With confidence high and conditions set to be similar, he’s my pick to top the Indian batting charts once more.
Top South Africa Bowler – Marco Jansen at 3.85
Jansen performed well in the opening match and continues to show excellent form. His wicket taking ability and ability to extract bounce on a flat deck, makes him good value to finish as South Africa’s top bowler on Wednesday.
