India and South Africa begin their three-match ODI series on Sunday the 30th of November at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. Both sides enter this contest after eventful campaigns throughout 2025 and we take a closer look at the match up from a betting front.
INDIA
India come into this series with confidence after a successful season, which was highlighted by their impressive form throughout the Champions Trophy earlier in the year. They defeated Bangladesh, Pakistan, New Zealand, and Australia before overcoming New Zealand again in the final to lift the trophy after winning by 4-wickets with 6 balls remaining.
Their recent tour of Australia in October produced mixed results, with losses in Perth and Adelaide before picking up a convincing 9-wicket win in Sydney to restore momentum.
KL Rahul takes charge of the ODI squad, supported by the experienced top order duo of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. The middle order features Tilak Varma and Rishabh Pant, while all-round options like Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar offer balance.
In the bowling department, India look well-rounded with Kuldeep Yadav leading the spin attack, supported by the pace of Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, and Harshit Rana.

SOUTH AFRICA
South Africa enter the series following a solid 2025 that included a semi-final run at the Champions Trophy, as well as series victories over Australia and England. They defeated England away from home in the first two ODIs in September by 7-wickets and 5 runs respectively before losing the final match in Southampton by 342 runs.
Their most recent assignment saw them battle Pakistan during a competitive series held in Faisalabad earlier this month, where they won the second ODI by 8 wickets to bounce back from a 2-wicket loss two days earlier but ultimately fell short in the decider, settling for defeat by a 7-wicket margin.
Temba Bavuma is set to lead the ODI side, bringing experience and composure at the top of the order. He is supported by Matthew Breetzke, Dewald Brevis, Ryan Rickelton, and Tony de Zorzi.
South Africa’s bowling unit looks dangerous and in form. Ottneil Baartman, Corbin Bosch, Marco Jansen, Lungi Ngidi, and Nandre Burger give the Proteas a varied pace attack, while Keshav Maharaj and Prenelan Subrayen offer crucial spin alternatives. Quinton de Kock being selected for the squad adds both experience and stability.

HEAD-TO-HEAD
India and South Africa have shared a competitive ODI rivalry across recent years, with India holding a slight advantage. Their last ODI meetings took place in late 2023 where the first game in Johannesburg swung the way of India who won by 8-wickets and this was followed by an 8-wicket win for the Proteas at St George’s Park and the final clash saw India claim a 78 run triumph in Paarl to take the series.

India 1.38
South Africa 3.15
SUGGESTED BETS
Top India Batter – Rohit Sharma at 4.25
Rohit Sharma has a strong record against South Africa and remains one of India’s most reliable ODI performers. His experience at the top of the order and ability to bat for long periods under pressure makes him my pick in this 50 over format.
Top South Africa Wicket-Taker – Corbin Bosch at 7.25
Corbin Bosch has developed into one of South Africa’s stars with ball in hand, he has been on good form and with his variety of deliveries I believe he will give the Indian batsmen plenty to think about.
