INDIA
Entering the semifinals, India stands as the only team yet to lose a match, having won all nine of their group games. This secured them the top spot in the table and a well-deserved spot in the semifinals. They are the 19/20 favourites to win the tournament.
In their last group stage game against the Netherlands, India won the toss and opted to bat first. They got off to a strong start, with their first three batsmen – Sharma, Gill, and Kohli – each scoring half-centuries, propelling India to 200 runs when the third wicket fell. Subsequent stellar performances from Iyer and Rahul, who both scored centuries, allowed India to post a formidable total of 410 runs in the fifty overs, with only four wickets lost.
India also began their bowling innings strongly by taking a wicket in the second over. However, they struggled to capitalize on this early breakthrough, allowing the Netherlands batsmen to gain momentum. India took regular wickets though and the Netherlands were eventually bowled out in the 48th over for 250 runs, resulting in India’s victory by 160 runs.
Top of Form
NEW ZEALAND
To secure a spot in the semifinals, New Zealand won five out of their nine games, earning them the fourth position with ten points and they are 7/1 to win the Cup.
In their recent game against Sri Lanka, New Zealand won the toss and chose to bowl first. They started the match on a high note, claiming five wickets in the 1st ten overs, establishing a strong hold on the game which they would not relinquish. While their pace in taking wickets slowed down afterward, they successfully restricted Sri Lanka’s run-scoring, limiting them to 171 runs before bowling them out in the 47th over.
New Zealand batted confidently, losing their first wicket after reaching 86 runs. Standout performances came from Conway, Ravindra, and Mitchell, each contributing just over 40 runs. This solid effort allowed New Zealand to comfortably chase down the 171-run target in only the 24th over, securing their fifth victory in the World Cup and confirming their spot in the semifinals.

India 4/11
New Zealand 9/4
HEAD-TO-HEAD
These two teams have faced each other four times this year, with India winning all four games. The most recent encounter took place in the group stages of this World Cup, where India emerged victorious by 4 wickets.
Suggested Bet: India to be over 37.5 at the first dismissal at 17/20
India’s opening batsmen have consistently showcased their prowess, surpassing fifty runs before the first dismissal in four of their last six games. In their most recent match, they only lost their first wicket after reaching 100 runs. I am backing the Indian openers for another strong start.
Suggested Bet: Virat Kohli to score a 50 at 1/1
Kohli has been in exceptional form in this World Cup, currently holding the position of the top run-scorer for the tournament. Additionally, he leads in the number of half-centuries, having scored five in the nine games he’s played. I am backing him to score a 6th half-century.
