The 2025 ICC Champions Trophy Final will be held on Sunday the 9th of March at the Dubai International Stadium. The game will feature a clash between India and New Zealand to see who lifts the trophy, we will look at the game from a betting front.

Let’s begin with a look at the Outright Betting where with two teams remaining, India trade at 1.40 for the win, New Zealand are further back priced at 3.00.

There are other long term markets to be settled such as team and tournament top bowlers and batsman

India’s Route to the Final

India have had a flawless campaign this tournament, winning all 3 of their group stage games and clinching a victory in the Play-offs to advance to the Final.

They started things off with a 6 wicket win over Bangladesh and then went on to beat Pakistan by 6 wickets as well just 3 days later. Their last group stage match featured a meeting with New Zealand, and they won by 44 runs. All 3 of their Pool matches were played at Dubai International Stadium.

Their most recent fixture was played on Tuesday when they went head-to-head with Australia, losing the toss and being asked to field first. The Indian side kept things tight from the get-go, taking a couple of wickets in the early stages while restricting the batsmen from scoring. Things then opened up slightly and small partnerships were formed but in the back end of the innings Australia fell apart ending on a total of 264 all out.

Mohammed Shami was the star bowler with 3 wickets for 48 runs across his 10 over spell.

India was in a similar position to Australia when they took to the pitch, losing two crucial wickets however, they had a few batsmen hold onto their wickets and despite no massive partnerships being formed and them losing wickets as the game continued, they chased the total down with 4 wickets and 11 balls remaining.

Virat Kohli led the chase with 84 runs off 98 deliveries.

New Zealand’s Route to the Final

New Zealand finished runners-up to India in Group A after winning two and losing 1 of their group stage clashes, they then cruised through their Play-off match to the Final.

They began their run with a 60-run win over Pakistan at National Bank Stadium and a few days later they beat Bangladesh by 5 wickets with 23 balls remaining at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Their third match resulted in a 44-run defeat to India in their last group stage match at Dubai International Stadium.

Their most recent match was against South Africa in the Semi-Final held at Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday. The game started with New Zealand winning the toss and electing to bat first which proved to be the right choice as they held onto some early wickets, forming some huge partnerships and with two of their batsmen reaching centuries they finished on 362/6 after 50 overs.

Top batting figures were claimed by Rachin Ravindra who scored 108 runs off 101 balls.

New Zealand then put the Proteas under pressure with an early wicket and despite allowing them to stabilise for a while, in the second half of the innings they picked up wickets often, restricting the run rate as well. As a result of this they won the match by 50 runs after Mitchell Santner’s 3 wickets for 43 runs in 10 overs.

India 1.40

New Zealand 3.00

VERDICT

India are favourites to lift the trophy at 1.40 with New Zealand trailing them at 3.00.

I believe that with these sides already meeting and India claiming a 44-run win, they will come into this match bursting with confidence, performing well and getting the job done to win the tournament at a ground they have now played on 4 times.

Bet 1: Kohli to score a 50 at 2.40

Kohli remains the man for the big occasion and he will look to anchor this innings, is in form and clearly enjoys the wicket.

Bet 2: Williamson to score a 50 at 2.75

Very similar comments to Kohli. Williamson is pure class and knows how to pace himself when setting a target or chasing.

Bet 3: Chakravarthy top Indian Bowler at 3.10

He will be a handful for the New Zealand batsman in the middle of the innings on a pitch he gets plenty of assistance from.
