The first clash of the two match test series between Bangladesh and South Africa starts on Monday the 21st of October. The match will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, and we will look at some of the betting options available.
The weather forecast for the week promises two days of uninterrupted play to start off the series, the latter half of the week does have threats of rain which could be important to note as it may bring the draw into the equation.

Bangladesh:
Have participated in three 2-match test series so far this year, with the first being played against Sri Lanka in March, where Bangladesh fell well short on both occasions, losing the first game by 328 runs and although the second was a closer contest, they still lost the match by 192 runs. They then met with Pakistan in August, where they hit form, claiming a 10-wicket victory in the 1st test before another dominant 6-wicket win to end the series 2-0 victors.
Their most recent action was roughly a month ago, where they took on a strong Indian side. The first match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium saw India cruise to a 280-run win, and the second match at Green Park saw Bangladesh lose by 7 wickets.
South Africa:
Started the 2024 year with their second game against India at home, with the first one having gone the way of the Proteas, who won by an innings and 32 runs in late December. The second match did not have the same result however, and India picked up a 7-wicket win. South Africa then travelled to take part in a 2-match series against New Zealand, where they lost the first match by 281 runs and the second match by 7 wickets.
South Africa’s latest clash was against the West Indies in August and the matches were both held on foreign soil. The first match ended in a draw and the Proteas clinched a 40-run win in the second match.
Head-To-Head
The last time these sides went head-to-head on Bangladesh turf, the series was relatively uneventful, with both matches ending in a draw. Their most recent meeting took place in 2020 in South Africa, where the Proteas cruised to a dominant 2-match victory, winning the first match by 220 runs and the second by 332 runs.
