Australia and South Africa head to the Cazalys Stadium in Queensland for the final T20 of their three-match series. South Africa kept the contest alive with a dominant victory in the second game, setting up a decider that promises plenty of excitement. We will take a look at the match from a betting front.
2nd T20 AUS vs SA Summary
After the first clash which took place in Darwin and resulted in a 17-run triumph for the Aussies, the 2nd T20 between the sides started with Australia winning the toss and electing to field first at the same ground. It was South Africa who took control in the middle stages although they lost Ryan Rickelton for 14, Aiden Markram for 18, and Lhuan-dre Pretorius for 10 inside the first seven overs, this was due to a stunning display from Dewald Brevis who took center stage, producing an incredible innings of 125 runs from just 56 balls, striking 12 fours and 8 sixes. He found good support from Tristan Stubbs, who contributed 31 from 22 deliveries, helping the visitors post a formidable total of 218/7 from their twenty overs.
Ben Dwarshuis was the most economical of the Australian bowlers with 2 wickets for 24 runs in his four over spell, while Glenn Maxwell also picked up 2 for 44.
In reply, Australia made a slow start after quickly losing Travis Head for 5 and Cameron Green for 9. Captain Mitchell Marsh then added 22 to the scoreboard before Tim David kept hopes alive once again with an explosive half century off only 24 balls, hitting 4 boundaries as well as 4 maximums. This also delivered our top Australian bat bet.
Despite this, the hosts lost wickets at regular intervals which resulted in them being bundled out for 165 runs in the 18th over and the visitors securing a 53-run victory. Corbin Bosch was the standout bowler for South Africa, claiming 3 wickets for 20 runs in his 3 overs, while Kwena Maphaka chipped in with 3 for 57. In the end, Dewald Brevis was deservedly named Player of the Match.

South Africa – 2.90
SUGGESTED BETS:
Top Australia Batter – Tim David at 3.90
David’s 50 in the second T20 came at an exceptional strike rate and kept Australia in contention, this was the second top performance from his end. I think he has it in him to do it again, as he seems to have the measure of this Proteas attack.
Top South Africa Batter – Ryan Rickelton at 3.50
Rickelton looked good in the 1t T20 and will be looking to bounce back from a failure in the 2nd. He is a player who can go hard up front and I am betting on him to come off.
