After Australia took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series, the third and final test will start on the 3rd of January at the Sydney Cricket Ground. In this preview we will analyse the betting odds for the game.
Australia won the 1st test in Perth by 360 runs and then it was off to Melbourne with Pakistan needing to win to keep their hopes of a series win alive.
2nd Test
In the second test, Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl first. Australia made a relatively strong start, losing their first wicket after reaching the 90-run mark. Labuschagne then contributed by scoring 63 runs enough to be the top innings bat. Pakistan bowled well and Australia was eventually bowled out for 318 runs.
Pakistan’s innings began strongly, with Shafique and Masood both scoring half-centuries. However, they couldn’t sustain this momentum and started losing wickets regularly. Pat Cummins delivered an impressive performance, taking 5 wickets in the 20 overs he bowled. Pakistan scored 264 runs before being bowled out.
In their second innings, Australia didn’t have a successful start, losing four wickets with only 16 runs on the board. Smith and Marsh then dug in with Smith scoring a half-century and Marsh getting 96 runs. Carey also contributed with a half-century. Afridi and Hamza performed well each taking 4 wickets. Australia was bowled out for 262 runs, giving them a 316-run lead.
In the final innings, Pakistan lost an early wicket but managed to build some momentum and form decent partnerships giving them hope. Both Masood and Agha put in solid performances, each scoring half-centuries. However, it wasn’t enough, as Pakistan was bowled out for 237 runs, with Pat Cummins taking another 5 wickets.
This resulted in Australia winning by 79 runs, securing a 2-0 lead in the series.

Australia 1/3
Draw 15/4
Pakistan 8/1
Suggested Bet: Australia to be over 34.5 runs before the first dismissal in the first innings at 17/20
Australia’s openers have looked solid and I am betting on another good start.
Suggested Bet: Pat Cummins to top the bowling at 33/10
After delivering an impressive 10-wicket performance in the last game, Pat Cummins has showcased his outstanding form. If he maintains this form he should give us a good run for our money.
