The second one day international between these two sides is set to take place on Friday the 20th of September in Sharjah in the UAE and we will take a look at the match from a betting angle.
1st ODI
The first game between theses sides was played in Sharjah and the game began with the Proteas winning the toss and electing to bat first. They were put under immense pressure in the first 10 overs and the Afghanistan bowlers restricted them to a woeful total of 36-7.
South Africa managed to stabilise but with so few wickets remaining, they were bowled out for 106 runs in the 34th over. Top batsman was Wiaan Mulder who was the only batsman to reach a total over 20 runs, ending on 52 off 84 balls. For Afghanistan, Fazalhaq Farooqi took 4 wickets for 35 runs in his 7 over spell.
Afghanistan then took to the pitch to open up the second innings, where they lost an early wicket and were batting at an even slower rate than South Africa in the early stages. But in the end the Proteas bowling line-up failed to take enough wickets which allowed Afghanistan to cruise to a 6-wicket victory with 144 balls remaining. Top batsman was Gulbadin Naib who scored 34 runs off 27 deliveries. The player who topped the bowling charts was Bjorn Fortuin who took 2 wickets for 22 runs off 9 overs.

Afghanistan 2.25
South Africa 1.70
The teams are lot closer in the betting that ahead of the 1st ODI and if anything I would say that Afghanistan are the value as underdogs given their dominant 1st ODI win.
I am going to look to the top bowler and batsmen markets for my betting interest though and will look to bet on the match result in running.
Suggested Bet: Afghanistan Top Bowler – Fazalhaq Farooqi at 3.15
After such a dominant performance in the last encounter, Farooqi looks following against a battle scarred South Africa lineup.
Suggested Bet: Top SA Batsman – Aiden Markram at 3.05
Like his fellow top order batsmen Markram failed on Wednesday and I fancy him to take a more cautious approach with the South African innings built around him.
