Pretoria Capitals v Joburg Super Kings
Pretoria Capitals endured a frustrating 2025 campaign, finishing fifth with just two wins from eight matches, although several rain-affected fixtures and defeats late in the season skewed their final position.
There were flashes of quality, particularly at Centurion, where the bounce and pace suited their attack. The squad again looks competitive on paper, with Will Jacks and Dewald Brevis (snatched from MICT for a massive price) providing top-order class, while Lungi Ngidi and Keshav Maharaj taken from Paarl Royals and DSG respectively give them genuine wicket-taking threat with the ball.
Joburg Super Kings were reasonably consistent last season, finishing fourth and qualifying for the playoffs before falling in the Eliminator.
Donovan Ferreira leads a settled and experienced group, and they remain one of the most reliable sides in the competition. Their batting depth is built around control rather than brute force anchored by veteran Faf du Plessis, while the bowling attack containing Nandre Burger and Prenelan Subrayen should be particularly effective in Highveld conditions.

The sides met twice during the 2025 season. Their first encounter at the Wanderers ended in a no result due to rain, while the return fixture at Centurion saw Pretoria Capitals secure a comfortable 6-wicket victory, restricting Joburg Super Kings to 99/9 before chasing the target with ease.
