We are down to the final three teams in the SA20 and on Thursday night at SuperSport Park in Centurion, the Paarl Royals will play against the Sunrisers Eastern Cape for a place in the Final against MI Cape Town.
Let’s start with a look at the latest Outright Betting which sees MI Cape Town, who are waiting in the Final for the winner of this match, priced at 4/7 with Sunrisers Eastern Cape, 2nd place favourite at 5/2 and the Paarl Royals, who stumbled after a fast start to the season, are 9/2 in the betting.

The Top Bowler and Top Batter Markets are also still open and Marco Jansen is a 2/9 favourite to be the Top Bowler and Rassie van der Dussen is 8/11 to be the Top Tournament Batsman.
PAARL ROYALS
The Royals finished 2nd on the table, 7 points behind MI Cape Town with 7 wins and 3 losses. That got them into the first qualifier against MI Cape Town at St George’s Park on Tuesday and after winning the toss they elected to field. MI Cape Town continued to accelerate throughout the innings, posting 199 for 4 with Dunith Wellalage, the pick of the Paarl Royal bowlers with 2 for 23 in his 4 overs.
The Royals were always under pressure in the chase and ended up losing by 29 runs with David Miller scoring 45 off 26 balls as they were bowled out for 160 with two balls remaining in the innings.
SUNRISERS EASTERN CAPE
The Sunrisers Eastern Cape finished 3rd on the log, 4 points behind the Paarl Royals with 5 wins and 5 losses. Virtually all of their matches involved bonus points whether in victory or defeat.
They played in the eliminator on Wednesday night against the Joburg Super Kings at SuperSport Park in Centurion. The Sunrisers lost the toss and were sent into bat, scoring a respectable 184 for 6 in their 20 overs with Aiden Markram top scoring with 62 not out off 40 balls. All 8 of the batsmen who got to the crease got into double figures.
The Super Kings got off to a fast start, but the Sunrisers managed to take regular wickets after that to restrict their opponents to 152 for 7 to win the game by 32 runs. Overton, Dawson and Baartman all picked up two wickets with Overton’s 2 for 20 off his 4 overs enough to secure him Top Bowler honours.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
These sides met in Match 3 of the Tournament where the Paarl Royals won by 9 wickets at Boland Park, chasing down 176 for victory with just 1 wicket dropped. Lhuan-dre Pretorius scored 97 off 51 balls in his tournament debut.
They had to wait until Match 28 to meet again where the Sunrisers Eastern Cape won by 48 runs at home, setting 148 for 8 in their 20 overs only to bowl the Royals out for 100. Craig Overton was once again the best bowler with 3 for 15 in his 4 overs.

Paarl Royals 5/4
Sunrisers Eastern Cape 13/20
I think the Sunrisers Eastern Cape are worthy favourites here, but at the price I am going to wait for in-running options and will rather look at some other markets on offer.
BET: Tony de Zorzi, Total Runs Under 17.5 at 17/20
De Zorzi was late into the Paarl Royals franchise, but his game seems to be well off at the moment and he is coming under massive pressure and I expect another early exit.
BET: Player to hit the most sixes Paarl Royals, Mitchell Owen at 28/10
Also a latecomer into the Tournament, after playing in the Big Bash, Owen makes his intentions clear from the start and if he can hang around for any length of time, he must be a big runner in this market.
BET: Sunrisers Eastern Cape Top Bowler, Craig Overton at 57/20
He has performed very well since coming into the team and was the Sunrisers Eastern Cape Top Bowler in their last two matches.
