We are down to the final four teams in the SA20 and on Tuesday, MI Cape Town and Paarl Royals meet in Qualifier 1 in Gqeberha at the St George’s Park Cricket Ground. The winner progresses to the Final while the loser will play in Qualifier 2 against the winner of the Eliminator.
MI Cape Town finished top of the SA20 table with 7 wins, 2 losses and 1 no-result in their 10 games. They were the only team to finish with a positive net run rate of 2.45.
The Paarl Royals were 7 points behind them in 2nd on the log with 7 wins and 3 losses.
MI Cape Town are the 11/10 favourites to win the Tournament with the Paarl Royals priced at 19/10. The two teams playing in the eliminator, the Joburg Super Kings and the Sunrisers Eastern Cape are 6/1 and 13/2 respectively.

MI CAPE TOWN
Were in action on Sunday in Match 30 of the Tournament when they hosted the Pretoria Capitals in Cape Town. MI Cape Town won the toss and chose to bat, scoring 201 for 5 off their 20 overs despite resting regular opening pair, Van der Dussen and Rickelton, they got off to a cracking start putting on 133 for the first wicket before Sediqullah Atal went out in the 13th over for 74 off 46 balls. He was top score ahead of his opening partner, Connor Esterhuizen who made 69 off 43.
The MI Cape Town bowlers had the Pretoria Capitals in trouble from the start and they showed their strength in depth when despite resting many players, they bowled their opponents out for 106 to win by 95 runs. Dane Piedt was the top bowler with his 3 for 28 off his 4 overs and Thomas Kaber also grabbed 3 wickets for 27 off his 3 overs.
PAARL ROYALS
The Paarl Royals lost their last two games of the season and in their final match they were away to the Sunrisers Eastern Cape. The Sunrisers won the toss and batted first scoring 148 for 8 in their 20 overs and Bjorn Fortuin was top Paarl Royals bowler with 2 for 20 in his 4 overs.
The Paarl Royals were missing a number of players and were bowled out for 100 to lose by 48 runs. Rubin Hermann was top score with 35 off 39 balls.

MI Cape Town 4/7
Paarl Royals 14/10
The short price on MI Cape Town looks totally justifiable given how they ended up dominating the season, but Paarl Royals have had the advantage of playing on the St George’s Park track as recently as Saturday.
I can’t look past the MI Cape Town win though but I will steer clear of the outright betting and look for some other opportunities.
BET: Player to score the most sixes, Dewald Brevis at 7/1
Brevis has had an excellent season and the biggest risk about this bet is that he doesn’t get enough time at the crease with the opening pair of Van Der Dussen and Rickelton in such good form. I am hoping MI Cape Town look to getting him in early and if so, he will be a big runner in this market.
BET: Pre-Match Handicap, MI Cape Town -4.5 wickets, -11.5 runs at 9/10
In order for me to collect this bet, MI Cape Town will have to win the game by 5 wickets or more or assuming they are setting the target they need to win by 12 runs or more. The way they are playing at the moment I would not be surprised if we got a one-sided qualifier.
BET: Bowler Total Match Wickets, Trent Boult over 1.5 at 5/4
Boult is a man who usually gets 2 and sometimes 3 overs at the top of the order and is well-known for striking in the power plays. The Paarl Royals should come out with an aggressive approach and that could open up wicket opportunities for Boult. Worse case scenario he should get another crack towards the end of the innings.
