Joburg Super Kings
The Joburg Super Kings are in 4th on the table after 9 games of which they have won 4 and lost 4 with 1 match ending in a no contest. They are currently tied on points with the Sunrisers in 3rd.
Their most recent match was played on Thursday night at Wanderers where they took on the Paarl Royals, winning the toss and electing to field first.
Their bowling attack was firing early on, despite allowing the Royals to score at a decent rate. Throughout the innings they continued to take wickets and minimize partnerships which concluded in a 150/9 target being put up.
The Super Kings star bowler was Lutho Sipamla who took 3 wickets in his 4 overs at an economy rate of 4.75 runs an over.
Captain Faf Du Plessis then led the chase putting up 87 runs off just 55 balls, which got his team close to victory. And in the end, they won by 7 wickets with just more then 2 overs to go.
Durban Super Giants
The Durban Super Giants are in last place overall and are out of contention for the trophy.
The last time they took to the pitch was on Monday the 27th of January where they met with the Paarl Royals on opposition soil. They began the match by winning the toss and choosing to bat first.
They once again fell apart from the get-go, losing wickets at a frequent rate and despite getting some partnerships going in the second half of the game, they were only able to put up a total of 143/7. Their best player with bat in hand was Marcus Stoinis who scored 55 runs off 40 balls.
The Super Giants then started well, dismissing Joe Root on the first ball of the innings, but thereafter they battled to take wickets. Which allowed batting partnerships to form and although it came right down to the wire, they lost the match by 6 wickets with 1 ball remaining.
The pick of the crop in terms of Super Giants bowling was Prenelan Subrayen who took 1 wicket for 26 runs across his 4 over spell.

Joburg Super Kings 1.63
Durban Super Giants 2.40
Suggested Bet: Joburg Super Kings Top Batter – Devon Conway at 2.85
Conway did decently in their previous match and prior to that he put in a big knock, I believe that it is between him and Faf for top batter. Faf has been a bit hit or miss I think Conway tops the batting this time around in his likely anchor role.
Suggested Bet: Durban Super Giants Top Bowler – Noor Ahmad at 2.55
Ahmad has impressed me with his variation in this tournament and he has proven to be a hard bowler to face. No doubt were the rest of the team playing at his level he would have got more wickets and DSG would be higher up the table.
