We take a look at 4 of the 9 Champions League matches taking place on Wednesday night from a betting angle.

RANGERS v NAPOLI – Click here to bet
Rangers had come through the qualification stages to make the group stages of the Champions League and they didn’t get off to a good start getting hammered 4-0 at Ajax in Round 1.
Napoli on the other hand could not have got off to a better start despite starting underdogs at home to Liverpool they triumphed 4-1. Napoli are going well in the League and on the weekend beat Spezia 1-0 at home while Rangers match against Aberdeen was postponed.
Based on Napoli’s performance in week 1 I am very happy to be backing them at anything close to even money here.
Suggested Bet: Napoli win at 9/10
CHELSEA v SALZBURG – Click here to bet
Chelsea’s campaign got off to a poor start when they lost 1-0 on the road to Dinamo Zagreb in week 1. They come into this match fresh having had their league game against Fulham postponed on the weekend.
Salzburg started underdogs against AC Milan at home, but they managed a 1-1 draw and they are now undefeated in their last 8 matches in all competitions.
I am expecting Chelsea to bounce back strongly from their week 1 defeat and I am going to back them to win by more than a goal.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Chelsea -1.5 at 10/11
MANCHESTER CITY v DORTMUND – Click here to bet
Manchester City got their campaign off to a perfect start with a 4-0 away win over Sevilla in week 1 and like all the English clubs they had their domestic match on the weekend postponed.
Dortmund also got off to a great start with a 3-0 home win over FC Copenhagen and looking at their domestic form they were surprisingly beaten 3-0 on the road by RB Leipzig on the weekend.
These sides met in the Champions League in the 2020/21 season with Manchester City winning both home and away by 2-1. Manchester City are in prolific form and it is hard to argue against their 1/5 price tag here and I am going to focus on the goals market where I am looking for 4 goals or more
Suggested Bet: Over 3.5 goals at 5/6
JUVENTUS v BENFICA – Click here to bet
Juventus were beaten 2-1 on the road by PSG in their opening game, but it certainly wasn’t a bad performance against a side that was 3/10 to beat them on the night. Of concern to Juventus fans though is that they have only won 1 of their last 6 matches in all competitions and in the League this past weekend they were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Salernitana despite having started 11/20 favourites.
Benfica had come through the qualification stages to join Juventus in Group H and they got their campaign off to a strong start with a 2-0 home over Maccabi Hiafa 2-0 in their opening round, a result which has them top of the group after 1 match. Amazingly they have won all 16 matches they have contested in the last 3 months.
Winning is a habit and I am going to back Benfica to extend their recent excellent run.
Suggested Bet: Benfica win at 9/4
