The Tour de France 2022 concludes on Sunday 24th July when Stage 21 takes the riders onto the Champs-Élysées in Paris
Our selection in Stage 20, Wout van Aert delivered in impressive fashion winning the individual Time Trial by 19 seconds from his teammate and Yellow Jersey, Jonas Vingegaard. Tadej Pogacar fought hard to finish 3rd with Thomas in 4th and pre-race 2nd race favourite, Ganna finishing 42 seconds down in 5th.
Vingegaard now leads the Tour de France by 3 minutes 34 seconds from Pogacar with Thomas over 8 seconds down in 3rd place. The only classification movement on Stage 20 was Vlasov leapfrogging Quintana and Meintjes into 5th and Meintjes was also overtaken by Bardet who finished in 7th with Meintjes 19 minutes 12 seconds down in 8th spot.

STAGE 21 ROUTE AND PREDICTIONS
We have the traditional Champs-Élysées finish today and the Stage is pretty predictable in terms of how it will play out although finding a winner will of course be a lot tougher. Riders will set off and there will be plenty of champagne drunk over the opening kilometres as riders pose for photos and enjoy the fact they have made it through this brutal Tour.
They then hit the Champs-Élysées and we will get a breakaway that is probably allowed no more than 30 or 40 seconds. There are a number of teams that will work on the front to ensure that the break is controlled and ultimately bring it back, mainly the Alpecin team of Jasper Philipsen and the Quickstep team of Fabio Jakobsen. Caleb Ewan’s Lotto team can also be expected to contribute as these sprinters look for some reward for making it through the mountains.
Jumbo-Visma are, in my opinion, unlikely to push to bring the break back, however they do have Wout van Aert, who won the Stage last year more than capable of finishing it off when it all comes back together.
SELECTION: Groenewegen win at 9/2
I was leaning to Jakobsen who has really battled to drag himself over the mountains purely to try and win the final sprint in Paris. I am going to side with Groenewegen though as he looks to have come through the mountains strong and has a strong team to help him
