STAGE 13 RECAP
Stage 13 proved to be one for the breakaway and Dane, Mads Pedersen rode a brilliant tactical race forging clear of the breakaway group along with Wright and Houle before beating the pair in a sprint finish. Alpecin would have been disappointed not to have brought the break back for Philipsen to sprint and BikeXchange tactics were questionable as they often are and they waited too long to get involved in the chase.
From a general classification point of view it was a quiet day with no changes in the standings.
JERSEY UPDATE
Jonas Vingegaard continues to lead Pogacar by 2:22 with Geraint Thomas a further 4 seconds back. Vingegaard is now 4/11 to win the yellow jersey with Pogacar priced at 5/2 and you can get 16/1 Thomas.

STAGE 14 ROUTE AND PREDICTIONS
This looks a really tough stage for any team to control and the breakaway must surely be favoured to go to the line. If things do come back together Pogacar would certainly be hard to beat, but history and the state of this race suggests we will get a break going all the way to the end.
It is a very hilly route with 4 Cat 3 climbs before a final Cat 2 climb of 3 kilometres at a leg breaking 10.2%. It is the sort of stage where a number of riders can win including strong climbers, but also strong sprinters who can hold on, on the short climb if they go on to it with a decent lead. The last bit of the stage is flat so a sprint finish amongst a very small group is also possible.
SELECTION
Nick Schultz at 25/1
Schultz came agonisingly close to winning a stage earlier in the week and I have little doubt his team will do everything possible to get him into the breakaway. He is better on a short climb like this than the long mountain pass and I am hoping that Schultz can finish the job this time around.
