The Ashes Series continues on Wednesday when the 4th Test gets underway at Old Trafford and we take a look at the game from a betting angle.
Australia lead the Ashes 2-1 after England won another thrilling Test match by 3 wickets at Headingley.
3rd TEST
England won the toss and decided to field first in overcast conditions with the pitch having a greenish tinge to it. After losing some wickets early Australia fought back to reach 240 for 4 at one stage before a massive collapse saw them 263 all out. Mitch Marsh was the hero of the innings with 118 at a run a ball and Mark Wood picked up 5 for 34 in his return to the side.
England were bowled out for 237 with Ben Stokes keeping his side in the game with 80 runs as he battled with the middle order and tail. Pat Cummins was the top bowler with 6 for 91 and Australia took a 27 run lead into the 2nd innings.
Things didn’t go well for them though and they were bowled out for 224 with Travis Head top scoring with 77 and Broad and Woakes both picked up 3 wickets each.
England found themselves in some trouble at 171 for 6 chasing 254 for victory, but Woakes with an unbeaten 32 and Mark Wood 16 not out saw them home. Earlier Harry Brook scored a crucial 75. Mitch Starc was the pick of the Australian bowlers with 5 for 78.
Australia had won the 1st Test at Edgbaston by two wickets and the 2nd Test at Lord’s by 43 runs.

OLD TRAFFORD
England last played a Test Match at Old Trafford in August of 2022 when they beat South Africa by an innings and 85 runs
They have a good record at Old Trafford having won 8 of their last 10 matches and they are currently on a 4 match winning streak. Australia beat them on their last visit here in 2019 though, winning by 185 runs and their previous meeting back in 2013 ended in a draw.

England 14/10
Draw 33/10
Australia 16/10
There is definitely a chance that weather could intervene here and that explains why the draw is fairly short given how aggressively both these sides play the game.
Australia have some real problems at the top of the order with Warner not firing and Smith and Labuschagne haven’t been at their best. An introduction of Wood and Woakes into the England bowling line-up made a big difference and I think they can level the Series here.
Suggested Bet: England win at 14/10

I was very impressed with Brook’s knock in the 2nd Innings at Headingley and it proved to be a match winning one. He is maturing nicely and I am going to back him to get the most runs for the home team.
Suggested Bet: First Innings, England Top Batter, Harry Brook at 33/10
I thought that Scott Boland bowled well without much luck in the 3rd Test and with conditions likely to suit him, I am going to back him to get the most wickets of the Australian bowlers.
Suggested Bet: First Innings, Australia Top Bowler, Scott Boland at 5/2
