We take a look at the Round 2 matches in the Six Nations and suggest a bet in each game.
Ireland have shortened into 4/7 favourites to win the Six Nations after their convincing victory over Wales last week. France are now out to 27/10 and you can get 13/2 Scotland while England 17/1, Wales 70/1 and Italy 500/1 are priced as virtual no hopers. Ireland are 15/10 to win the Grand Slam and despite their strong showing against France, Italy are 1/3 favourites for the Wooden Spoon.

Ireland v France – Click here to bet
This is the big one and is a potential Six Nations decider early in the competition.
Ireland had some injury scares before the Wales game last week, but they showed the depth of their squad running out comfortable 34-10 victors with the majority of the damage done in the first-half. Given they had started the game -6.5 with the bookmakers those that over-reacted to the team news and took Wales on the plus were never in the running.
France started 20 point favourites against Italy in Rome last week and after making a strong start it appeared that all was on track for the French team. Italy though came back at them hard and in the end the French barely got up for a 29-24 victory. The nature of that performance has seen them drift quite considerably in the Outright Betting.
In 2022, France beat Ireland 30-24 in Paris and the last time they met in Dublin in 2021 it was also the French who got up 15-13.
Handicap: Ireland -4.5
Suggested Bet: France win at 39/20
France weren’t at their best last week, but I like the look of the pack selected to take on the Irish and I am expecting a big French performance here.

Scotland v Wales – Click here to bet
Scotland were very impressive in beating England on the road last week despite been made double digit underdogs by the bookmakers. The final result was 29-23 and few who were watching the game will forget the two Duhan van der Merwe tries.
Wales were blown away by Ireland at home last week going down 34-10, but perhaps more telling was the 27-3 half-time deficit by which stage they were well and truly out of the match. Warren Gatland will be looking for his charges to lift themselves against the Scots and they have won their last 2 meetings beating them 20-17 in Cardiff last year and 25-24 at Murrayfield in 2021.
Handicap: Scotland -6.5
Suggested Bet: Over 33.5 points at 10/11
Scotland are a side that play entertaining and attacking rugby and I think that this points line should be a couple of points higher.

England v Italy – Click here to bet
England will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing 6 point defeat to the Scots at home last week. They played excellent rugby in patches and created a number of good chances, but in the end found the Scots too good on the day.
Italy came oh so close to beating the French last week and were right on the line attacking when the match ended. They were behind early, but came back strongly to eventually go down by just 5 points.
Last year Italy lost 33-0 at home to England and the last time they played at Twickenham it was England who won 41-18.
Handicap: England -18.5
Suggested Bet: Winning Margin Spread, England by 16-20 points inclusive at 13/2
I am not confident on the handicap in this game and while waiting for points lines for a better play (I am looking for a high scoring game) I am going to take a speculative play that England win this game by 16-20 points which is very much where the handicap is set.
