The Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul is the venue for Saturday’s UEFA Champions League Final between Manchester City and Inter Milan. We take a look at the game from a betting angle.
MANCHESTER CITY
Manchester City showed their class in their semi-final against Real Madrid winning the second leg 4-0 at home for a 5-1 aggregate win. They had seen off German giants, Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals also doing the job at home with a 3-0 win in the 1st leg before securing the tie 4-1. RB Leipzig was their last 16 opponent and as in their semi-final they opened with a draw on the road, but then swept their opponent aside 7-0 in the home leg for an 8-1 aggregate win.
Manchester City were comfortable winners of the English Premier League despite only getting 1 point from their last 2 matches and last weekend they were just too strong for Manchester United in the FA Cup Final at Wembley winning 2-1.
INTER MILAN
Inter got past rivals AC Milan in the semi-finals effectively getting the job done in the first leg where they won 2-0 on the road before a 1-0 home win gave them a 3-0 aggregate victory. They beat Benfica 5-3 on aggregate in the quarter-finals, also winning 2-0 on the road in the first leg to set the tie up and in the last 16 they edged Porto 1-0 on aggregate with the damage been done in the first leg.
Inter finished their domestic season strong with back-to-back victories to finish 3rd, a distant 18 points behind winners, Napoli.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
There have been no recent meetings between these sides and you have to go back to 2011 in the Dublin Super Cup for their last meeting where Manchester City won 3-0, reversing the score line from a friendly fixture the year before.
CHAMPIONS LEAGUE HISTORY
Manchester City have never won the Champions League and their best performance was a loss to Chelsea back in 2021.
Inter Milan have a much longer European pedigree and first played in the Final back in 1964 when they beat Real Madrid and they have since gone on to win two more Titles and they have also lost two Finals. Their most recent success was in 2010 when they beat Bayern Munich 2-0.

Manchester City 40/85
Draw 15/4
Inter Milan 11/2
Manchester City are short priced favourites and justifiably so as they have dominated teams like Bayern Munich and Real Madrid on the road to the Final.
The only concern for City is perhaps some early nerves, but I expect them to come out firing and to get the early goal that is going to open this game up. At the end of the day I am expecting City to be too strong and I am betting on them to win by more than 1 goal.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Manchester City -1.5 at 5/4
I am also going to have a nibble at the Correct Score Market where Manchester City 3, Inter 1 is trading at 10/1.
Suggested Bet: Correct Score, 3-1 at 10/1
There are plenty of other markets available for punters including first goal scorer where Erling Haaland is trading as the 23/10 favourite, but here I am tempted into a play on the in-form Ilkay Gundogan at 9/1.
Suggested Bet: 1st Goal Scorer, Ilkay Gundogan at 9/1
