WSB Soccer ambassador Junior Khanye takes a look at the best of the action this weekend
Manchester City vs Newcastle
· Manchester City – Win
– Manchester City is now out the Champions League so the team can focus on the Premiere League, and they are leading it with 1 point to Liverpool. The team has talented individual players that understand what the coach expects from them, plus as a team they understand each other’s strengths.
– For now, Newcastle is not strong enough to compete with Manchester City and the team will be dominated, plus we can expect a big goal difference between the two teams.
Kaizer Chiefs vs Mamelodi Sundowns
· Mamelodi Sundowns – Win
– I was not convinced by Kaizer Chief’s last victory against Marumo Gallants, but I’m sure that it will lift their confidence going into the next game, but are no match for Mamelodi Sundowns. Arthur Zwane is not experienced enough to win this match. He has lost 3 matches out of 4 and is not against one of the best teams in Africa.
– Sundowns only lost in the Champions League recently, but are the current DSTV champions and are looking to break their record, so it will be an easy win for Mamelodi Sundowns.
Ah Ahly Tripoli vs Orlando Pirates
· Ah Ahly Tripoli- Win
– I am not too familiar with Ah Ahly Tripoli, but from what I have seen, it can be safe to say that they are a tactically disciplined team.
– I’m not convinced about Pirates’ win against Simba. Simba wasn’t a strong team and Pirates could not capitalize on the team, in both home and away matches. Pirates are not a good side to be in the quarter-final and do not have a core starting line-up.
Liverpool vs Tottenham
· Liverpool Win
– Liverpool has a high-intensity team with the best front 3 in the world. The team does not concede too many goals either and has a coach that instills that tactical discipline in their players and has brought back their spark through his understanding of them.
– Tottenham has Conte, who is a master of changing systems but is no match for Liverpool
Arsenal vs Leeds
· Arsenal Win
– Arsenal is very fluid, like Manchester City, and scores with identity.
