The Springboks take on Argentina this Saturday, the 5th of August in Buenos Aires. This collision takes place only a week after they last met in the final round of the Rugby Championship, and we take a look at the match from a betting perspective.
NOTE: With the RWC 2023 just over a month away we can expect to see a lot of experimenting with team selections and tactics so punters should proceed with caution.

Argentina
Argentina is in decent form at the moment based on the results they took out of the Rugby Championship. After a shaky start at home to the All Blacks they were able to turn things around and cause an upset against the Wallabies in the second round. In their final game when they faced off against South Africa, the Argentinians narrowly lost the match 22-21, despite looking like the better side on the day.
Coach Michael Cheika will be looking for a confidence-boosting upset win over the Boks and there will be a passionate home crowd cheering them on. After the last encounter, the Argentinian side will be looking to improve execution in order to pressure the Boks into making mistakes.
South Africa
The Boks narrowly defeated the Argentinians last week, however after what many regard as a below-par performance there is plenty of work to be done if they are to beat the Pumas on the road.
Last week Los Pumas were able to put significant pressure on the Boks in the second half of the game and this is an area the Bok coaching staff will be looking to rectify.
In other Rugby Championship matches the Boks hammered Australia at home and were well beaten by the All Blacks on the road.
Bok Head Coach, Jacques Nienaber, has made 14 changes to the Springbok line-up and has brought many players who haven’t had much opportunity into the squad to experiment before the final selection of the World Cup side.

Head-to-Head
In the past 6 matchups between the two sides, the Boks have won all 6 games, with 5 of them being in South Africa and only one being away in Buenos Aires.
Handicap: Argentina +4.5
VERDICT
Argentina have a poor record against the Boks and despite the Boks making numerous changes I think they will be able to get on top of the home team at some stage and can win and extend their winning run. This is unlikely to be a landslide win though and the Boks by no more than 7 points is my call.
Suggested Bet: South Africa win by 1-7 points inclusive at 12/5
