India and South Africa meet in a crucial Group 2 T20 Super 12 in Perth on Sunday and we suggest a few betting options.
INDIA
India currently top Group 2 with a maximum of 4 points from their opening two matches. Their first win came in spectacular fashion against Pakistan where they chased down 160 required for victory in the last over having looked dead and buried for much of the chase.
Netherlands were next up for India and they put in a workmanlike performance scoring 179 for 2 after choosing to bat. Kohli carried on his excellent form with 62 not out off 44 balls and there were 50’s for Sharma and Yadav. The Indian bowlers never let the Netherlands get a sniff and they managed to restrict them to a 123 for 9 off 20 overs. Kumar was excellent with 2 for 9 off 3 overs and there were also 2 wicket hauls for Patel and Ashwin.
SOUTH AFRICA
The Proteas opening game against Zimbabwe was rained out with South Africa agonisingly short of victory in a match that just never got the required overs in to enable a result. They bounced back strongly in the next match against Bangladesh though scoring 205 for 5 in their 20 overs. The only disappointment been they slowed down in the last 5 overs as opposed to kicking on and they would have expected 230 or even 240 to be on the cards at one point.
Rilee Rossouw got a superb 100 finishing with a 109 off 36 balls and Quinton de Kock scored 63 off 38 balls. Bangladesh started briskly but were quickly in trouble when Nortje got amongst the wickets eventually finishing with 4 for 10 in 3.3 overs. Shamsi also challenged the Top Bowler market at one point with 3 for 20 in his 4 overs and Bangladesh were bundled out for 101, for a 104 run victory for South Africa.

India 11/20
South Africa 14/10
I think India are worthy favourites here although the Proteas are certainly capable of pushing them, I am going to steer clear of a bet in the Outright Winner market and look at some of the exotics.
Suggested Bet: Top Indian Bowler, Kumar at 27/10
I am so impressed with the control with which this man bowls and although plenty of his colleagues are capable of getting amongst the wickets, I have a feeling that he is going to cause plenty of problems for South Africa towards the top of the order.
Suggested Bet: Indian Top Batsman, Rohit Sharma at 26/10
Sharma has looked in good form and for me Rahul at 15/8 favourite is a bit short in this market while I am looking to take on Kohli who surely has to fail sometime.
Suggested Bet: Bowler Total Match Wickets, Nortje over 1.5 wickets at 16/10
Nortje picked up 4 wickets in his last match and he is bowling with excellent pace and looks to be in good form.
Suggested Bet: South African Total in their Highest Scoring Over, Over 17.5 runs at 17/20
This is not a bet I have taken before, but it looks like quite an interesting one, basically we need South Africa’s biggest over of the match to have 18 or more runs in it and hopefully with the likes of Rossouw and perhaps Miller later on firing we will get this.
