French Open Women’s Singles Final Betting Preview

Iga Swiatek takes on Karolina Muchova in the French Open Final at Roland Garros on Saturday and we take a look at the game from a betting angle.

Iga Swiatek, the top seed has marched through to the Final with very few problems.  She had straight sets victories in her 1^st and 2nd rounds before a 6-0, 6-0 win over Wang in the 3^rd round.  She then got a walk over, over Tsurenko when leading 5-1 in the 1^st set and her quarter-final against 6^th seeded Gauff was also one sided with a 6-4, 6-2 victory.  She was pushed hard in the 2^nd set of her semi-final against Haddad Maia after winning the 1^st set 6-2, the tie breaker was eventually clinched 9-7 to send her through to the Final.

Unseeded Karolina Muchova has had a far more difficult run to the Final and it began with a tough straight sets victory 7-6, 7-5 over 8^th seed Sakkari in the 1^st round.  She then battled to beat Podoroska 6-3 in the 3^rd set in the 2^nd round before a couple of straight sets victories saw her through to the quarter-finals where she beat Pavlyuchenkova 7-5, 6-2.  Her semi-final against 2^nd seed, Sabalenka was an epic affair and Muchova won the 1^st set 7-6 before losing the 2^nd set 6-7 and finally clinching the match 7-5 in the 3^rd set.

This pair have only met once with Karolina Muchova beating Swiatek in the Prague Open in 3 sets back in 2019.

It is hard to look past a Swiatek win here as the No. 1 seed has been in absolute dominant form.  Muchova though has fought hard and showed in the semi-final that she is more than capable of mixing it with the best on this surface.  I have a feeling that Muchova is going to put up a fight and I am going to bet that we are going get 20 games or more in the match.
