After a break for the 2022 World Cup English Premier League swings back into action on Boxing Day and we take a look at the games from a betting angle
First though a reminder of the Outright Betting where Manchester City are currently trading as 40/85 favourites ahead of Arsenal at 5/2, you can get 33/1 and better the balance.

Brentford v Tottenham – Click here to bet
Brentford are currently 10th on the log with just 1 loss in their last 5 games. They face a Tottenham side sitting 4th with 2 victories and 3 losses in their last 5 matches.
Looking back at last season’s result this fixture finished goalless and Tottenham won the reverse fixture 2-0 at home.
Suggested Bet: Both teams to score, YES, at 8/11
Before the break both of these teams were scoring freely and I am backing that to continue.
Over 2.5 goals is priced at 8/10 which is certainly another option worth considering.
Crystal Palace v Fulham – Click here to bet
Palace are currently 11th on the table on 19 points from 14 matches. They are level on points with 9th placed Fulham, but have played a game less. Looking at current form Crystal Palace have won 3 and lost 2 of their last 5 while Fulham are on a poor run having only taken 1 point from the last 9 they played for before the break.
These sides played to a goalless draw at Crystal Palace two season’s back and Palace won 2-1 when they met Fulham on the road.
Suggested Bet: Crystal Palace win at 11/10
Fulham look to be a side that is on the slide and Crystal Palace are a team that has impressed me this season.
Everton v Wolves – Click here to bet
Everton are currently 17th on the table with just 1 victory in their last 5 starts. They play a Wolves side which sits bottom of the log with just 2 wins in 15 matches and only 1 point in the last 15 they played for before the break.
Wolves did the double over Everton last season winning 1-0 away and 2-1 at home.
Suggested Bet: Everton win at 27/20
Everton have had a poor season, but they appeared to be heading in the right direction before the break whereas Wolves look to be in big trouble.
Leicester v Newcastle – Click here to bet
Leicester are currently 13th on the log. They were in good form before the break with 4 wins from their 5 last matches. They face a Newcastle side that is 3rd on the table with just 1 defeat in their opening 15 games and they have won their last 5 on the trot including a 1-0 win over Chelsea last time out.
Leicester thumped Newcastle 4-0 in this fixture last season, but the reverse was won by Newcastle 2-1 at home.
Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 8/10
This bet would have arrived in 5 of the last 6 matches between the sides and in the last 3 hosted by Leicester.
Southampton v Brighton – Click here to bet
Southampton are 19th on the log with just 1 point from the last 12 they have played for and they have lost their 3 games in succession before the break. They face a Brighton side currently sitting 7th on the table with 2 wins, 2 losses and a draw in their last 5 starts.
These sides met in the 2021/2022 season and both games finished as draws and both teams have found the back of the net in the last 5 matches between the sides.
Suggested Bet: The draw at 26/10
I don’t think there is going to be much between these sides and I think the draw offers some value here.
Aston Villa v Liverpool – Click here to bet
Aston Villa are 12th on the log with 3 wins in their last 4 matches and they face a Liverpool side currently 6th on the table, but they are coming off back-to-back victories at home to Southampton and away to Tottenham.
Liverpool won this fixture 2-1 last season and they also won at Anfield 1-0.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Liverpool -1 goal, the draw at 29/10
For this bet to arrive I need Liverpool to win by exactly a goal, something they did in both fixtures last season.
Arsenal v West Ham – Click here to bet
Arsenal are top of the table, 5 points clear of Manchester City and they have only suffered 1 defeat in 14 matches this season and have won 7 and drawn 1 in their last 8 fixtures. They face a West Ham team which currently sits 16th on the log with 4 losses and 1 victory in their last 5. West Ham have lost their last 3 games in a row.
Looking at head-to-head fixtures last season Arsenal did the double over West Ham winning 2-1 away and winning 2-0 at home.
Suggested Bet: Correct Score, 2-0 Arsenal at 11/2
I think the Gunners will be too strong for West Ham, but I don’t think they are going to run away with things early and this might be a fairly tight game until deep into the match.
