We take a look at the 2 English Premier League Fixtures taking place on Sunday from a betting angle.
Before we get into the matches a reminder that the long-term betting markets for the English Premier League will be updated continuously throughout the season.
Going into the first weekend, Manchester City are trading as 8/11 favourites ahead of Arsenal at 9/2 and Liverpool at 15/2 to win the Title, but there are plenty of other markets including Top 4, Top 6, Relegation, Team to finish Last as well as Team and Player Match Bets.

Brentford v Tottenham – Click here to bet
Brentford finished 9th on the table last season, finishing strongly with 4 wins in their last 5 games, that included a 1-0 victory over Manchester City on the last day of the season.
They have played 5 warm-up games since early July failing to win any of them with 3 draws and 2 losses, but reading anything into pre-season form can be very dangerous as teams are testing combinations and building for their respective Leagues.
Tottenham finished 1 position and 1 point ahead of Brentford on the table picking up 8th spot thanks to a 4-1 away victory over Leeds on the last day of the season.
Tottenham have had a few of their warm-up matches cancelled and some mixed results in their warm-up games (they lost 4-2 to Barcelona a few days ago), but the common denominator has been goals with at least 5 goals in their last 4 warm-up matches.
Brentford beat Tottenham 3-1 on the road last season and this fixture finished 2-2.
Current betting sees Brentford 18/10, the draw at 26/10 and Tottenham 29/20, but based on recent head-to-head form I fancy that we get goals in this one and I am going to bet that we get 4 more in the game.
Suggested Bet: Total Goals over 3.5 at 7/4

Chelsea v Liverpool – Click here to bet
This is certainly the most tasty fixture of the opening weekend and after a very disappointing season last time out where they finished 12th, Chelsea will be hoping to start the season strong. They just never got out the blocks in 2022/23 and only picked up 2 points out of the last 12 they played for at the end of the season.
Chelsea have played a number of friendlies to get ready for the season and they have been in pretty good form winning 3 and drawing 2, including a 1-1 draw at home to Dortmund last time out.
Liverpool finished 5th on the table and never recovered from a slow start although put together great streaks throughout the season. Liverpool have also played 5 friendly matches all of which have had plenty of goals and there have been a total of 34 goals in just 5 games.
Goals certainly weren’t the order of the day in meetings between these sides last season with both fixtures in the League finishing goalless.
I am expecting a much better season from Chelsea and I am going to bet that they can get a point out of this game.
Suggested Bet: The draw at 26/10
