With the Manchester Derby covered in its own preview we take a look at the other 5 matches taking place in the English Premier League on Saturday and suggest a bet in each.
Brighton v Liverpool – Click here to bet
Brighton are currently 8th on the log with 3 wins and 2 losses in their last 5 games. Last time out they hammered Everton 4-1 on the road. Their last home game was a 4-2 defeat against Arsenal. Goals have flowed in Brighton matches of late and their last 7 games have all delivered profits for over 2.5 goal backers and in fact 6 of those 7 games have had 4 goals or more in them.
Liverpool are currently 6th on the log, but saw a 4 match winning streak ended when they lost 3-1 away to Brentford last time out. Over 2.5 goal backers would have collected profits in Liverpool’s last 6 games and both teams have found the net in all six of those matches.
Of course I was hoping for anything close to 8/10 on over 2.5 goals here, but the bookies are wise to us, pricing it at 4/7. I am going to take a more ambitious route and I am going to go for over 4.5 goals at 16/5. This would have arrived in 4 of Brighton’s last 6 matches besides playing to a 3-3 draw at Liverpool earlier this season.
Suggested Bet: Over 4.5 goals at 16/5

Everton v Southampton – Click here to bet
Everton are currently 18th on the log and without a win in their last 6 matches. They were beaten 4-1 at home by Brighton last time out.
Southampton are bottom of the table and they have only won 1 of their last 10 and have lost their last 6 games, most recently going down 1-0 at home to Nottingham.
This match sees two teams low on confidence going up against each other in what is a crucial game as far as relegation goes and I don’t think there is going to be much between the sides.
Suggested Bet: The Draw at 95/40
Nottingham v Leicester – Click here to bet
Nottingham are currently 15th on the table and they are coming off a nice 1-0 win away at Southampton.
Leicester are 13th on the log, but after a good run have lost 3 matches in succession, most recently going down 1-0 at home to Fulham.
7 of the 9 Leicester away games have reached the 3 goal mark and those stats have enough to have me hopping on the overs trade at just over even money.
Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 19/20
Wolves v West Ham – Click here to bet
Wolves are currently second from bottom of the table and with just 1 win in their last 8 matches. Last time out they drew 1-1 at Aston Villa and their last home game was a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United.
West Ham are in 17th on the log and in free fall themselves with their 2-2 draw away to Leeds last time out breaking a run of 5 successive losses.
Both of these sides are really struggling and their games are amongst the lowest scoring in the Division with 11 of the 18 Wolves games finishing with 2 goals or less in them and 13 of the 18 West Ham games finishing on under 2.5 goals.
Under 2.5 goals is 4/6, a bit short for my liking in the EPL and I am going to suggest that these teams won’t be separated after 90 minutes.
Suggested Bet: The draw at 23/10
Brentford v Bournemouth – Click here to bet
Brentford are currently 9th on the log after an impressive run which has seen them undefeated in their last 6 games. They have won their last 2, at home to Liverpool and away at West Ham.
Bournemouth are 16th on the log with just 1 win in their last 9 and they have lost 7 of their last 8 matches.
Brentford have taken the scalps of Liverpool and Manchester City in their last 4 games and Bournemouth have lost their last 3 by more than a goal. I am backing Brentford on the handicap here.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Brentford -1.5 goals at 17/10
