There are two English Premier League matches taking place on Friday night and we take a look at each of them from a betting angle.
Let’s start with a look at the Outright Betting for the English Premier League where Manchester City are trading as 4/10 favourites with Arsenal currently priced at 5/2, you can get 28/1 Newcastle United, 33/1 Liverpool and 60/1 and better the balance.

West Ham v Brentford – Click here to bet
West Ham went down 3-1 away to Arsenal last time out and that was their 4th successive loss in the English Premier League. They have won 3 out of 8 matches at home, but have lost their last 2 home games against Leicester and Crystal Palace. Only 25% of West Ham games would have made you a profit had you backed over 2.5 goals.
Brentford are 10th on the table and are unbeaten in their last 4 games with 3 draws and a victory. They returned to action following the World Cup break with a 2-2 home draw against Tottenham on Boxing Day. They have only won once on 8 attempts on the road this season, but have drawn 50% of their away matches and 10 of the 16 Brentford matches have reached the 3 goal mark.
Brentford did the double over West Ham last season, winning this fixture 2-1 and winning 2-0 at home.
I don’t think there is much between these sides and the draw is certainly a runner at 26/10, for me though Brentford are being over-priced slightly and I am going to take the 11/4 they beat West Ham for the first time in a row
Suggested Bet: Brentford win at 11/4
Liverpool v Leicester – Click here to bet
Liverpool got their 3rd successive victory in the EPL with a 3-1 away win over Aston Villa on Boxing Day. They had won their previous two starts just ahead of the World Cup break, one of which was their last home match a 3-1 home win over Southampton. Liverpool have only lost once at home this season, winning 5 and drawing 2 of their 8 matches. 5 of their 8 home games have had 3 goals or more in them.
Leicester are 13th on the table and were well beaten 3-0 at home by Newcastle last time out. That halted the run of two successive victories before the World Cup break and both of those were on the road against West Ham and Everton. Leicester have won 3 and lost 5 of their 8 away matches and they have taken the maximum 9 points from the last 3 away games they have played.
Leicester away matches averaged 4.4 goals each, joint highest in the Premiership and 75% of their away games have delivered profits for over 2.5 goal backers although their last 2 away games had been low scoring.
Liverpool beat Leicester 2-0 at home last season and they have won their last 3 matches in a row against Leicester at Anfield.
I expect Liverpool to be too strong for Leicester who would have taken a knock from the big home defeat against Newcastle and I am backing the home team to win by 2 goals or more here.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Liverpool -1.5 goals at 8/10
