There are 4 DSTV Premiership matches taking place on Sunday and we preview each of them from a betting angle.
Chippa United v Maritzburg United – Click here to bet
Chippa United go into the weekend in 10th position, but without a win in their last 7 matches. They are coming off back-to-back 1-1 draws away at Royal AM and at home to Cape Town City. Both teams have found the back of the net in the last 3 Chippa United matches and in 6 of their last 7 games.
Maritzburg United are 12th on the log and making a big move up the table after 3 successive victories, most recently beating Golden Arrows 1-0 on the road. Maritzburg United are undefeated in their last 4 away matches.
Bookies have priced this up as a close encounter and the draw is certainly tempting at 19/10. In the end I am going to look for the Both Teams to score pattern which has been prevalent in Chippa matches to continue.
Suggested Bet: Both teams to score, YES, at 12/10
Richards Bay v AmaZulu – Click here to bet
Richards Bay are 2nd on the log, a distant 19 points behind Mamelodi Sundowns, but with two games in hand. They are coming off a 1-1 draw at SuperSport United and they have only lost 1 of their last 10 matches. Richards Bay home games have averaged an incredibly low 0.8 goals each and not 1 of the 8 matches has reached the 3 goal mark.
AmaZulu are 8th on the table with just 1 defeat in their last 8 matches. They drew 1-1 at home to Marumo Gallants last time out. Prior to that they hammered Kaizer Chiefs 4-0 at home. They have only won once in 8 attempts on the road and their away games have averaged only 1.3 goals each with only 1 delivering a profit for over 2.5 goal backers.
Richards Bay won the reverse fixture 1-0 away, but given the lack of goals from these 2 sides I think we are heading for a draw here and in fact I am going to go for a scoreless draw.
Suggested Bet: Correct Score, 0-0 at 9/2

Kaizer Chiefs v Royal AM – Click here to bet
Kaizer Chiefs are currently 6th on the log, but on a terrible run which has seen them lose their last 3 matches. They went down to Sundowns 1-0 at home last time out and their last away game was a 4-0 defeat to AmaZulu. Kaizer Chiefs haven’t scored a goal in their last 3 games.
Royal AM are currently 11th on the table and also not in the greatest form. They are coming off a 1-1 home draw to Chippa United and their last away match was a 3-1 defeat to Maritzburg United. Royal AM have lost their last 4 away games in the PSL.
Royal AM beat Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 earlier in the season and last season they did the double over Chiefs.
These are amongst the two highest scoring sides in the Division with 9 of 17 Royal AM matches reaching the 3 goal mark and 8 of the 17 Chiefs games and for this reason I think that over 2.5 goals could be a value play at just over 15/10.
Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 31/20
TS Galaxy v Golden Arrows – Click here to bet
TS Galaxy are 13th on the log and they only have 1 win in their last 10 matches, 6 of those games have been draws though. Last time out they scored their first goal in 4 matches when they went down 2-1 at home to Mamelodi Sundowns and they have only won 1 of 8 home matches this season.
Golden Arrows are currently 9th on the log after a much needed 3 points at home to Marumo Gallants last time out. They have been hit and miss in their last 8 matches, winning 3 and losing 5.
The betting suggests a close match, but I am hoping TS Galaxy have turned a corner in the goal scoring department with their last match having had 3 goals in it and I am going to back the over 2.5 goals at 17/10 given that 3 of the last 4 Arrows matches would have seen this bet arrive.
Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 17/10
