We take a look at three of the DSTV Premiership matches taking place on Wednesday and suggest a bet in each of them.
GOLDEN ARROWS v STELLENBOSCH
Golden Arrows have climbed to 7th on the table after 3 victories in 4 matches. They were impressive last time out beating SuperSport United 3-2 at home and overall at home this season they have a fairly even split between wins, draws and losses. Just over 50% of the Arrows home games have delivered profits had you backed over 2.5 goals.
Stellenbosch are 1 position and 2 points ahead of Golden Arrows on the log although they have played a game more. Their recent form has been poor though with 4 draws and a loss in their last 5 matches. On the weekend they drew 1-1 at home to Sekhukhune and they have one of the better away records in the PSL, losing just 2 of their 11 matches while drawing 6 and winning 3. Only 3 of the 11 Stellenbosch away matches have reached the 3 goal mark.
These sides last two head-to-head matches have both finished goalless.

There is lots to like about Arrows victory over SuperSport and they look to be a team on the up and I think they have the attack to breach the solid Stellenbosch defence.
SEKHUKHUNE v ORLANDO PIRATES
Sekhukhune are 9th on the table, but without a victory in their last 4 starts. They drew 1-1 away at Stellenbosch on the weekend and their last home game was 1-1 draw with Maritzburg. They have won 4, drawn 4 and lost 3 of their 11 home matches this season. Those home games have been amongst the lowest scoring in the Division with just 1 of the 11 games breaching the 2.5 goal mark.
Orlando Pirates are 5th on the log and got a much needed victory in their last start which was back in mid-March beating SuperSport United 3-2. They have drawn 60% of their away matches this season and 60% of their away games have had less than 3 goals in them.
Pirates edged Sekhukhune 2-1 in the home fixture earlier this season.

The draw is very short priced here at 15/10 and that certainly in my view opens up some value on Orlando Pirates who I think can beat a Sekhukhune side that is really battling for form at the moment.
The obvious pick here is Under 2.5 goals given Sekhukhune’s home record but at 3/10 the bookies have seen us coming on this one and I am almost tempted by the 12/5 that we get 3 goals or more in the game.
SWALLOWS v MAMELODI SUNDOWNS
Swallows are battling this season and have only won 3 out of their 22 matches and they currently sit 14th on the log just above the relegation zone. They haven’t been in League action since early March when lost 1-0 away to Royal AM. 3 of the 11 Swallows home matches have landed the spoils for over 2.5 goal backers.
Mamelodi Sundowns are top of the table and also haven’t been in action since early March when they suffered a rare defeat going down 2-1 away at Maritzburg United. They still lead by 11 points from Royal AM in second place and look to have the defence of their title sewn up. Sundowns have only lost 2 of 11 away matches this season.
Sundowns away games have been low scoring this season averaging 1.7 goals each with only 3 of the 11 matches reaching the 3 goal mark. 2 of those 3 have been in their last 2 away games though.
Sundowns had few problems seeing off Swallows 3-0 at home earlier this season and both fixtures between the sides were drawn last season.

Once again I find myself drawn to the total goals market, but the 4/10 that we get under 2.5 goals is probably spot on from the books. I will revert to a straight win play on Sundowns who look to be far superior to Swallows this season as evidence with the comfortable win in the reverse fixture.
