There is a full-house of 8 DSTV Premiership matches taking place this weekend. We start by previewing the four games taking place over Friday and Saturday.
FRIDAY
Stellenbosch v Cape Town City – Click here to bet
Stellenbosch are currently sitting bottom of the table on 15 points with just 3 wins in 18 games. They haven’t had a win in their last 9 starts and last time out they were hammered 4-1 on the road by Orlando Pirates. Their last home game was a 1-0 loss to Sekhukhune.
Cape Town City are up to 7th on the table after an impressive run that has seen them take 7 points from the last 9 they have played for. They beat TS Galaxy 1-0 at home last time out and their last away game was a 1-1 draw at Chippa United.
Stellenbosch look to be a team in free fall and I am quite surprised to be getting 16/10 about a Cape Town City win.
Suggested Bet: Cape Town City win at 16/10
SATURDAY
Mamelodi Sundowns v Sekhukhune United – Click here to bet
The Mamelodi Sundowns winning train continues and if you followed us in midweek you would have got a surprisingly good 9/10 that they would beat TS Galaxy on the road. They duly obliged 2-1 for their 13th successive PSL victory. At home this season they have scored 18 goals in 10 matches while conceding just 3.
Sekhukhune are 5th on the table and on an impressive unbeaten run of 6 matches including winning their last 4 games. Last time out they beat Swallows 1-0 at home and their last away games were 1-0 victories over Stellenbosch and Chiefs.
Sekhukhune held Mamelodi Sundowns to a 1-1 draw at home earlier in the season.
It is a brave man who bets against Mamelodi Sundowns, but if one team can stop them it is Sekhukhune in their current run of form. I am going to stick my neck out here and call a shock upset win.
Suggested Bet: Sekhukhune United win at 8/1

Swallows v SuperSport United – Click here to bet
Swallows are currently 14th on the log hovering just above the relegation zone. They have just once in their 5 matches since returning to action after the World Cup break and last time went down 1-0 on the road to Sekhukhune. Their last home game was a goalless draw with Galaxy and under 2.5 goal backers would have collected profits in Swallows last 8 League matches.
SuperSport are 3rd on the table and without a win in their last 3 starts they drew 1-1 at home to Richards Bay last time out and previously lost by a goal at both Sundowns and Arrows.
I am battling to find a betting angle on this one and I am going to go with the correct score market where 1-1 is trading at 4/1.
Suggested Bet: Correct Score 1-1 at 4/1
Marumo Gallants v Orlando Pirates – Click here to bet
Marumo Gallants currently sit bottom of the table with only 1 win in their last 10 starts. They were beaten 3-2 away by Golden Arrows last out. Their last home game was a 2-0 defeat to Richards Bay. They have only won once in 8 home matches this season.
Orlando Pirates are up to 4th on the table after ending a 3 match losing streak with successive home victories over Arrows and Stellenbosch, beating Arrows 3-1 and Stellenbosch 4-1. Pirates have only won 2 out of 8 away matches this season and only won one of their last 5.
Only 4 of the 19 Marumo Gallants matches have reached the 3 goal mark and only 3 of 17 Pirates matches have seen over 2.5 goal backers profit. That being said though it is the last 3 Pirates games that have had goals in them and I am tempted by the 17/10 on offer that we get over 2.5 goals in this match. I was on the verge of placing that bet when I had another look at the Outright Markets though and scratching my head that we are getting 5/4 on Orlando Pirates to beat the bottom team of the log and that is where I am heading.
Suggested Bet: Pirates win at 5/4.
