We take a look at 5 of the DSTV Premiership matches taking place this weekend and suggest a bet in each.
Please note that the big Soweto Derby, Kaizer Chiefs v Orlando Pirates is covered in its own preview.
Bookmakers have wisely stopped betting on the outright result of the PSL with Mamelodi Sundowns runaway leaders. You can though get betting on who will finish 2nd in what is known as “Without Sundowns” market and here we have SuperSport and Pirates trading at 28/10, Richards Bay 7/2, Kaizer Chiefs 9/2 and you can get 14/1 and better the balance.

FRIDAY
SuperSport v Maritzburg United – Click here to bet
SuperSport are currently 2nd on the log and are unbeaten in their last 4 matches although 3 of those have been draws. Their last 5 matches have all seen under 2.5 goal backers collect profits.
Maritzburg United are 2nd from bottom and have only taken 1 point from the last 9 they have played for.
SuperSport have won their last two home League matches against Maritzburg and I am going to keep things simple here and go for a home win.
Suggested Bet: SuperSport win at 17/20
SATURDAY
Richards Bay v Stellenbosch – Click here to bet
Richards Bay are currently 4th on the log, but on a run of 4 matches during which time they have only taken 2 points and they are coming off back-to-back defeats away to Sekhukhune and Swallows.
Stellenbosch are 13th on the log, but heading in the right direction with successive victories away at Chippa United and at home to Cape Town City.
I am somewhat tempted by over 2.5 goals at 13/8 based on recent Stellenbosch matches, but I am settling on an away win here as I feel that Richards Bay are on the slide while Stellenbosch are on the up.
Suggested Bet: Stellenbosch win at 9/4

Sekhukhune United v Cape Town City – Click here to bet
Sekhukhune are currently 6th on the log and got their season back on track when they stopped a two match losing streak with a 2-0 home win over Richards Bay last time out.
Cape Town City are two positions below them in 8th and they also halted a two match losing run when they beat Stellenbosch 2-0 at home in their last start.
Sekhukhune home form has been strong and they have taken 13 points from the last 15 they have played for. By contrast Cape Town City have taken just 1 point out of their last 15 on the road and it all points to a home win here.
Suggested Bet: Sekhukhune United win at 5/4
AmaZulu v Royal AM – Click here to bet
AmaZulu are 11th on the log and they have had 1 loss and 3 draws in their last 4 matches. Last time out they went down 2-1 at home to Galaxy.
Royal Am are currently 9th on the log with only 1 win in their last 5 matches. They did get an incredible 1-1 draw at home to SuperSport last time out and their last victory was on the road 2-1 against Golden Arrows.
AmaZulu are the 12/10 favourites to win this match and I am going for the goals market and over 2.5 goals at what looks a large 13/8 given that 7 of the 9 Royal Am away matches would have delivered this bet as would have 50% of AmaZulu home games.
Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 13/8
SUNDAY
Chippa United v Swallows – Click here to bet
Chippa United are currently 12th on the log with just 1 victory in their last 9 starts. They were beaten 2-1 at home by Stellenbosch last time out.
Swallows are hovering just above the relegation zone in 14th place, 3 points behind Chippa United. They lost 2-0 away to Cape Town City last time out and have only won 1 of their last 5 matches.
Swallows beat Chippa United 2-0 at home in the reverse fixture and prior to that these teams have played out 4 successive draws and that’s where I feel the value lies this week.
Suggested Bet: The draw at 37/20
