Australia take on Ireland in Brisbane in Monday’s only World Cup T20 Super 12 fixture and we take a look at the game from a betting angle.
Australia are currently 4th on the Group 1 table, level on points with Ireland and England with all of the teams having two games left to play.

AUSTRALIA
Australia’s last match against England was abandoned without a ball been bowled and prior to that they had bounced back from the heavy opening day defeat against New Zealand to beat Sri Lanka by 7 wickets with 21 balls remaining.
Most of the bowlers chipped in with solid performances that day and Mitch Starc with 1 for 23 and Agar with 1 for 25 were for me the pick of the bowlers as Australia restricted Sri Lanka to 157 for 6.
Australia’s chase faulted at times, but in the end an unbeaten 31 from Aaron Finch off 42 balls and a whirlwind 59 not out off 18 balls from Marcus Stoinis saw them home.
IRELAND
Ireland opened their campaign with a 9 wicket defeat to Sri Lanka, but they bounced back in excellent fashion beating England by 5 runs in a rain shortened match. Their next game against Afghanistan was abandoned without a ball been bowled.
The England victory was particularly special and Ireland batted first and scored 157 in their 20 overs. Andrew Balbirnie was the top scorer with 62 off 47 balls and he was ably supported by Tucker with 34 off 27 and Campher with 18 off 11. England’s innings was disrupted by rain but they were restricted to 105 for 5 in 14.3 overs and Joshua Little picked up 2 wickets for 16 runs in his 3 overs.

Australia 1/12
Ireland 8/1
It is hard to look past Australia winning this game and I am going to be getting involved in some of the Exotic Markets.
Suggested Bet: Australia, Top Bowler, Mitchell Starc at 22/10
Starc is bowling very well and I just have the feeling that he hasn’t been rewarded for his efforts. He has every chance of picking up wickets at the top of the order and of course he will be bowling at the death as well when batsmen will be throwing caution to the wind.
Suggested Bet: David Warner to score 50, Yes, at 18/10
Much was expected of Warner in this Tournament and he hasn’t really shown what he is worth. He is an absolutely brilliant T20 cricketer though and I am looking for him to get stuck into this Irish attack and to bring up a 50.
Suggested Bet: Ireland Top Batter, Paul Stirling at 19/10
Stirling has had some good knocks already in this Tournament and I am looking to him for another strong contribution from him at the top of the order.
