Aquila Boxing Promotions returns to Johannesburg for Sandton Mayhem, a nine-fight card headlined by a pair of title clashes at the Galleria Events Venue.
The main event with sponsorship from World Sports Betting sees local standout Kaine Fourie square off with the experienced Argentine Claudio Daneff for the IBO Inter-Continental Lightweight Title, while the co-main event features a battle between unbeaten prospect Lindokuhle Khuzwayo and Nigeria’s seasoned Rilwan Lawal for the IBO All-Africa Featherweight Title.

KAINE FOURIE vs CLAUDIO DANEFF
Vacant IBO Inter-Continental Lightweight Title – Main Event (10 Rounds):
Kaine Fourie of South Africa headlines the event with a chance to make a major statement on home soil. The 23-year-old lightweight has been in destructive form recently, recording back-to-back stoppage wins over Sifiso Hlongwane and Oumpie Sebeko earlier this year. Fourie is known for his crisp combinations, relentless pressure, and powerful body shots.
He currently holds a record of 11 wins, 1 loss and 2 draws and has earned 9 career knockouts, as well as a growing fanbase across the region.
After suffering a first-round loss to Simon Ngoma in March, Fourie has rebounded impressively and will be eager to prove that setback was just a learning experience. Fighting in Johannesburg gives him both the crowd and confidence advantage, as he continues his push for the title.
Claudio Daneff, the Argentine prospect arrives with a wealth of experience and technical polish. The 29-year-old has faced a variety of strong competition throughout South America, with 10 knockouts to his name. Daneff has won two straight bouts, including a stoppage over Carlos Ariel Farias in May, and is known for his disciplined approach and insane cardio.
He heads into this title fight with a record of 23 wins, 4 losses and a singular draw and has won 4 of his last 5 appearances in the ring.
He has the betting odds slightly stacked against him for this bout, but he will be keen to cause an upset in front of an opposing crowd.

Fourie 1.57
Daneff 2.25
PREDICTION:
Daneff’s composure and experience could make the early rounds competitive, but Fourie’s energy and consistent pressure should prove decisive as the fight wears on. I am expecting the South African to ramp up the tempo from the mid-rounds onward and potentially close the show late.
LINDOKUHLE KHUZWAYO vs RILWAN LAWAL
Vacant IBO All-Africa Featherweight Title – Co-Main Event (10 Rounds):
Lindokuhle Khuzwayo, the unbeaten South African steps into the biggest fight of his career when he meets Lawal for the All-Africa Featherweight strap. Khuzwayo has built his record of 6 wins and 1 draw methodically, showing impressive technical skill and composure for a fighter with just seven professional bouts.
His latest outing saw him fight to a draw with Jeff Magagane in June, which followed three straight victories by decision and stoppage during 2023 and 2024. He will be fired up in front of his home supporters and will no doubt perform at a high level.
Rilwan Lawal brings significant experience and punching power into this matchup. The 33 year old Nigerian currently sits on a career record of 20-2 of which 14 of his wins have come by knockouts. He recently bounced back from a TKO loss to Taiwo Agbaje by defeating Taofeek Ganiyu via unanimous decision in February.
Known for his aggression and fast starts, Lawal will look to test Khuzwayo’s chin and composure early and get back to his old ways where he picked up multiple knockouts in the early rounds of his fights between 2020 and 2023.

Khuzwayo 1.70
Lawal 2.00
PREDICTION:
Lawal’s power will make him dangerous in the early rounds, but Khuzwayo’s patient countering and superior movement should allow him to take control down the stretch. I believe that fighting in front of a home crowd should give him an extra edge in a closely contested affair that he wins via decision.
BET: The Local Double at 2.67
Fourie and Khuzwayo both to win
Note: All odds are correct at time of writing but are subject to change.
