SWIMMING
Swimming has been my personal highlight over the first few days of the Olympics and on Thursday night we will be treated to the Women’s 200m Butterfly, the Men’s 200m Backstroke, the Women’s 200m Breaststroke and the Women’s 4 x 200m Freestyle Relay.

Pieter Coetze flys the South African flag in the Men’s 200m Backstroke and after finishing 3rd fastest in the semi-finals the 20 year old looks a lively medal prospect and is priced at 11/1 for Gold.
South Africa has 2 swimmers in the final of the 200m Women’s Breaststroke where Tatjana Smith is the 4/6 favourite to win with Kaylene Corbett a 25/1 shot for glory.
In the Women’s 200m Butterfly Summer Mcintosh is the hot favourite at 3/10 and she certainly looks like one for the accumulators having qualified more than a second ahead of her rivals.
THURSDAY PLAYS
I am hoping Coetze can grab a medal in the 200m Backstroke but given how quickly he is improving at 11/1 he looks worth a small play to win Gold.

Based on qualification times Douglas looks like the only swimmer standing between Smith and the 100m/200m double.
I am going for the South African to get the job done and will throw here into a double with Summer Mcintosh in the 200m Butterfly.
