In Wednesday’s Olympic 2024 betting diary we focus on Athletics, but there are a number of other finals taking place across various sports and the Women’s Golf also gets underway.

ATHLETICS
Mykolas Alekna is the 4/9 favourite to win the Men’s Discus on Wednesday night. We also have the final of the Men’s 3000 metres Steeplechase where bookmakers are expecting Soufiane El Bakkali (8/10) to battle it out with Lamecha Girma (1/1).
The Men’s 400 metres is the highlight of the night for me and Kirani James comes into the final with the fastest qualification time. He is 18/1 to win though and the impressive Matthew Hudson-Smith, who cruised home in his heat, is the 5/8 favourite with Quincy Hall, also impressive in qualification, priced at 15/10 for the win.
We also have the Women’s Pole Vault final and if it is anything as exciting as the men’s we are going to be in for a great night. Nina Kennedy is the 5/10 favourite ahead of Angelica Moser at 33/10 with Katie Moon, the only other pole jumper under 10/1 and she is priced at 9/2.

WATER POLO
The men’s Water Polo quarter-finals takes place on Wednesday and Italy at 19/10 and Spain at 39/20 are favourites to win Gold and Silver. All four quarter-finals are fairly one-sided as far as the betting goes although I do think Australia have a chance to upset the USA and are priced at 3/1.

WOMEN’S GOLF
We can only hope that the women’s Golf is as exciting as the men’s and Nelly Korda at 4/1 is the favourite in a similar price to what Scottie Scheffler was in the men’s event. One golfer I think will be course suited and has plenty of experience in big Tournaments is Minjee Lee, currently priced at 18/1. South African, Ashleigh Buhai, a Major Champion is priced at 80/1.
