The Men’s Marathon gets us going at 08h00 on Saturday morning and it promises to be a thrilling race in energy sapping humid conditions and on a course that has plenty of hills.
Benson Kipruto is the 1/1 favourite with Victor Kiplangat priced at 2/1.
The Men’s High Jump is competitive with Kerr a 22/10 favourite ahead of Barshim at 5/2.
Djamel Sedjati is the strong favourite at 11/20 for the Men’s 800m with Wanyonyi 7/2 and Arop the only other runner in single figures at 9/1.
Jakob Ingebrigtsen is 1/3 to put his 1500m disappointment behind him with gold in the 5000m and the USA are 1/6 to win the Men’s 4x400m relay.
Jasmine Camacho-quinn is 1/1 to win the Women’s 100m hurdles and Haruka Kitaguchi is 21/10 to beat a strong field in the Women’s Javelin.
Faith Chepngetich Kipyegon is priced as a 7/20 good thing in the Women’s 1500m and the USA are 1/12 to win the 4x400m relay.

The Women’s final is the last event and the USA are 10/11 to do the job in 90 minutes with the draw 9/4 and Brazil 7/2.
The USA are 4/10 to win Gold with Brazil priced at 18/10.

Golf
Lydia Ko (18/10) and Morgane Metraux (6/1) go into the final round of the Women’s Golf tied for the lead at -9. Lurking 5 shots off the pace is defending champion Nelly Korda 14/1 and she will need to finish like Scottie Scheffler if both golf events are going to go to the favourites.
1st round leader and local favourite Boutier is also 5 back but a much bigger 40/1.
South African Ashleigh Buhai had a poor 3rd round and is now 8 back and 750/1 for the win. We saw what pressure did in the Men’s tournament and I fancy someone to come from off the pace to win this.
SATURDAYS PLAY OF THE DAY
I am going to go for a double, Arop to medal in the 800m and the USA to beat Brazil inside the 90 minutes.
