The English Premier League continues on Sunday the 11th of October with three fixtures on the programme. Crystal Palace host Nottingham Forest, Hull City welcome Everton before Liverpool and Manchester City meet at Anfield. We cover all three encounters from a betting angle below.

Outright Betting Update

Let’s start with a look at the Outright Betting where Arsenal are available at 1.50 heading into the weekend, with Manchester City trading at 4.75. Liverpool are priced at 11.00 while Chelsea can be backed at 15.00.

CRYSTAL PALACE vs NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Crystal Palace picked up their first clean sheet of the campaign in a goalless draw away to Leeds in their latest outing. That result followed a disappointing 3-2 home defeat against Ipswich Town, leaving Palace in 15th position with four points from five fixtures.

Their season began with a 2-0 defeat to Everton before Manchester City beat them 4-1. Palace responded with a 3-2 victory away to Fulham ,but they are yet to collect a point at home after losing both matches at Selhurst Park.

Nottingham Forest have collected five points from their opening five encounters and sit two places above their opponents in 13th. They suffered a 1-0 home defeat against Coventry City last time out, having secured their first victory with a 2-1 win away to Aston Villa a week earlier.

Forest opened with a 1-0 defeat against Leeds before drawing 2-2 against Liverpool and holding Tottenham to a goalless draw. Their strongest attacking performances have come away from home, with all four of their league goals scored on their travels.

Head-to-Head:

Five of the last six meetings between the clubs have ended level, with Nottingham Forest claiming the only victory during that sequence.

Both encounters last season finished 1-1, which was also the scoreline in their previous meeting at Selhurst Park. Forest’s victory came at home in October 2024 when they edged Palace 1-0.

Crystal Palace 2.70
Draw 3.40
Nottingham Forest 2.75

Verdict:

Crystal Palace will hope to build on their clean sheet against Leeds, but their home performances have been disappointing.

Nottingham Forest have already taken points away to Liverpool and Aston Villa, suggesting they can make this another difficult afternoon for the hosts. However, their defeat against Coventry shows they also struggle for consistency.

There is little between the sides in the betting, and their recent meetings have regularly finished level. I expect another closely contested encounter and favour a share of the points.

BET: Draw at 3.40

HULL CITY vs EVERTON

Hull City have made an impressive start to their campaign by beating Manchester United 2-0 at home before earning a 1-0 victory away to Coventry City. They then drew 0-0 against Aston Villa and claimed a useful point in a 2-2 draw at Chelsea.

Their unbeaten run ended with a 2-1 defeat away to Newcastle United in their latest fixture. Hull nevertheless enter this contest in 8th position with eight points, having kept clean sheets in both of their home matches.

Everton returned to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 home victory over Ipswich Town last time out. That result lifted them to nine points and 7th position on the log, one point ahead of Hull, while extending their unbeaten start to five matches.

The side kicked things off with a 2-0 victory against Crystal Palace before drawing 1-1 to Bournemouth and 2-2 at home to Manchester United. A goalless draw away to Tottenham followed, meaning they have conceded only three goals across their opening five fixtures.

Head-to-Head:

Everton claimed a 3-2 FA Cup victory after extra time in the latest meeting between the clubs in January 2022.

Their most recent league encounters came during the 2016/17 season, with a 2-2 draw at Hull followed by a comfortable 4-0 Everton victory. Hull last beat Everton in January 2015 when they secured a 2-0 home win.

Hull City 3.65
Draw 3.50
Everton 2.10

Verdict:

Hull City have been competitive since returning to the Premier League and their two home clean sheets suggest Everton will have to work hard for their chances.

The visitors have also defended well, keeping three clean sheets while remaining unbeaten. Their victory against Ipswich should provide confidence, although they are still searching for their first away win.

I expect a tight contest with chances at a minimum, but Everton’s steady start gives them a slight edge, and they are my pick to claim a narrow victory.

BET: Everton to Win at 2.10

LIVERPOOL vs MANCHESTER CITY

Liverpool extended their flawless run with a 1-0 victory away to Bournemouth in their latest outing. That result followed a goalless draw against Fulham and a 2-0 win over Ipswich Town, giving the Reds three consecutive clean sheets.

With two victories and three draws from five matches, Liverpool occupy 6th position on nine point although they are yet to win at Anfield this season.

Manchester City lead the standings with 15 points after winning all five of their opening fixtures. Their latest success was an entertaining 5-3 home victory against Sunderland, taking their scoring tally to 13 goals.

City began by beating Bournemouth 2-1 before recording a convincing 4-1 victory away to Crystal Palace. Consecutive 1-0 wins against Coventry City and Manchester United followed showing they have been able to win both tight contests and open encounters.

Head-to-Head:

Manchester City have won three of the last six meetings between the clubs, while Liverpool have claimed two victories and one encounter has ended level.

City won both league fixtures last season, beating Liverpool 3-0 at home and 2-1 at Anfield. They also recorded a dominant 4-0 FA Cup victory in their latest meeting, giving them three consecutive wins against Liverpool.

Liverpool 2.70
Draw 3.75
Manchester City 2.50

Verdict:

Liverpool’s recent defensive improvement makes this a tough test for Manchester City, with the hosts having gone three matches without conceding.

City arrive with a perfect record and have already demonstrated their ability to win away from home. Conceding three against Sunderland raises some concern but their attacking strength and recent results against Liverpool strengthen their case.

The Reds should provide a stern challenge at Anfield although City look the more convincing side at this stage of the campaign. I am backing the visitors to maintain their 100% record.

BET: Manchester City to Win at 2.50
