Formula 1 heads to Singapore this week for Round 17 of the 2026 season, and the Marina Bay Street Circuit is one of the most spectacular venues on the calendar, with the race run under the floodlights. This is also a sprint weekend, adding even more action.
Kimi Antonelli arrives with a commanding lead in the Drivers Championship, but there is still plenty to play for behind him, with several drivers separated by just a handful of points and Max Verstappen coming off the back of a win last time out. With the Mercedes pair, Verstappen and the Ferrari and McLaren drivers all in the mix, there is plenty to consider, and we have looked at the form guide and the market to find the best value. Here is our full betting preview for the weekend.
DRIVERS CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE
Kimi Antonelli leads the Drivers Championship on 320 points and is a 1.01 shot to win the title. George Russell is second on 236 points at 34.00, with Lewis Hamilton third on 214 points at 67.00. Charles Leclerc sits fourth on 191 points, also at 67.00, while Lando Norris and Max Verstappen are level on 188 points and are also available at 67.00.
With the title odds for Antonelli so short, the market is already treating the championship as all but decided, and the real fight for the remaining places in the top five looks wide open, with only a handful of points separating Leclerc, Norris and Verstappen.
Last Race – Bahrain GP 2026
Last time out was the Bahrain GP, although the race was held in Malaysia at the Sepang International Circuit. Max Verstappen took the win, with Kimi Antonelli second and Lewis Hamilton third. Charles Leclerc finished fourth and Isack Hadjar completed the top five. It was a disappointing afternoon for George Russell, who failed to finish, while Lando Norris could only manage ninth, a result that does little for his championship hopes. For Verstappen it was a statement win, and one that has put him firmly back in the conversation heading to Singapore.
Singapore GP 2025
Last year’s Singapore GP was won by George Russell, with Max Verstappen second and Lando Norris third. Oscar Piastri took fourth, ahead of Kimi Antonelli in fifth and Charles Leclerc in sixth. It was a strong result for Russell and Verstappen in particular, and the top six from last year is a useful guide to who has gone well around this circuit in the past.
Circuit
The Marina Bay Street Circuit is a 4.927km (5,388 yards), 19-corner street track through Singapore’s Civic District, and the race is run over 62 laps entirely after dark under floodlights. Singapore hosted F1’s first ever night race in 2008. It is one of the most physically demanding events on the calendar, with bumpy streets and hot, humid conditions testing both drivers and cars, and with little room for error on a track lined by walls, the margin for error is small and mistakes are often punished. That puts a premium on a clean qualifying lap and a well-managed race.

Betting and Verdict:
Max Verstappen has hit a brilliant run of form and is really starting to find pace and comfort in his car. He comes into this week off the back of a win last weekend as well as some solid results leading up to it. In the three races leading up to last week he had finished on the podium all three times with two 2nd place finishes and one third place finish. Verstappen also managed to finish 2nd at last year’s Singapore GP and so I like him to win this weekend.
Suggested bet: Max Verstappen to win at 3.40.
Lewis Hamilton appeals for a podium finish after qualifying on the front row and finishing third at Sepang last weekend. Ferrari’s early tyre gamble left him with plenty of ground to recover, but his fightback was encouraging. George Russell’s grid penalty also helps Hamilton’s chances, with the Mercedes driver expected to start at the back on a circuit where overtaking is difficult. Hamilton will still need a strong qualifying performance, but I fancy him to follow up last weekend’s podium with another top-three finish.
Suggested bet: Lewis Hamilton to finish in the top three at 2.10.
